Has anyone else seen the movie Fidel? It came out on the Showtime network back in 2002. It was a 2 part biograghy-type movie about Fidel Castro. It starts out when he is first getting involved with Chibas and then the attack on Moncada. Then of course it goes to the Guerrilla war and a little about what happens after the overthrow of Batista. It portrays Castro as pretty arrogant. In one scene, Fidel now in power, is angry about milk production. He gets angry when some workers on a farm tell him that one cow (the only cow, if I remember correctly) doesn't produce enough milk. Castro says that it's "the best cow" or something like that, and yells about how it will produce milk. It also shows him cheat on his wife. However, it ends with the actor playing Castro talking to the audience about amerika's war on Cuba and the embargo. I rented this movie from Blockbuster, so if anyone wants to check it out, try there. You can also buy it from Barnes and Noble's website. Anyways, if anyone else has already seen it, what are your opinions? Is it at all an accurate representation of Castro? It was quite unusual how it portrayed him in a somewhat negative way, then ended but showing him in a positive manner.

I saw it and I loved it very very much. Though I know that it wasn't 100% on the side or opposed to Castro. And the guy from the Motorcyle Diaries , Gael Garcia Bernal, he plays Che with the beard and says about one Cuban commandante who has grown to be a dissident," We should execute him."

And when Che is about to be executed by the Bolivians Garcia Bernal plays Che's last moments like such a pussy it is agonozing to watch. Oh yeah I almost forgot there is another part in the movie where Che is in the Sierra and he is winning many battles and in once scene he comes across a Batista platoon and Che confronts one army officer and asks him," Y tu cree que tu mereces la vida?" ("And do you think you deserve to live?") and then shoots him. That was a classic scene.
