Accuse me with suffering from nostalgia. With Soviet subsidies the possibilities were endless. Spreading revolution everywhere and scaring the fuck out of the Yanquis. The Yanquis are still scared but less so. Maybe in the future when China becomes even more powerful than it is now Cuba could get some more help.

China doesnt even have a shred of communism left. I have relatives in china, and all they do is brag about owning designer clothes, wear nikes, drink coke, eat at mcdonalds, and give no regard for the welfare of anyone not connected to them.
its sad

Chinas torn between the two … their new ideology doesn’t really define what they are but it still has that old school Mao feel to tit.

The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continous, it is not fought between two countries but between the leaders of one country and the same country's people.
Thats what the cold war was, it was a way for the American elite to keep their control over the rest of America. But this happened in the Soviet Union too, when you have a vanguard party taking over, there is bound to be elitism and that elitism will eventually lead to oligarchal collectivism, which is in essence clearly-defined Fascism, with the rulers in power the richest, and the workers the poorest. The Soviet Union was started with a good intention in mind, which went rotten due to the skill of Comrade Stalin(he however did manage to grow the soviet economy at an astounding rate, that even to today has not been matched).
Cuba's economy is constantly improving, not to worry, with the help of Venezuelan oil, Cuba will return to its former power(perhaps exceed its previous power). Cuba will then be able to help foment revolutions worldwide. Hopefully in Africa, if a favorable system is ever established in even one country in Africa of sizable population(50 million or more) it will cause a domino effect that will consequently consume all countries around and spread to(hopefully) Asia, where India(my homeland) and China will serve as the new Socialist dynamos. What will be the catalyst for this chain reaction? The water shortage. It's coming. Look it up.

Yea it is, I admire George Orwell, he was one of the few leftists who stood up to Stalin(not face to face), and think that people like him are what free press is all about, people who would make sure we keep our goal in mind.

Cuba's political prowess is no less potent than it was 35 years ago, they are just being contained by the United States. Should the U.S. ever cease the embargo or threaten Cuba militarily, they will be efficiently and quickly handed their asses. There is certainly hope in places like Venezuela and with people like Hugo Chavez (although I am the first to remind people that he is certainly no Fidel or Che) to revitalize the movement in South America. I also just watched several videos on factory "takeovers" which are taking place in South America throughout something like 400 major factories.
Needless to say, I am becoming fluent in spanish and will certainly keep the option of relocation open so long as our borders do not become barbed wire electric fences.

The United States media gives Cuba no attention, when I was in Grand Cayman it was a really different scene, I don't think I've heard the name Cuba on the news in the US. in 5 years. Censorship.

Of course the USA uses censorship. Cuba could have been better and prove the US that they are wrong about Communism. The embargo is there so that Cuba could never achieve the maximum it's potential. I am pro Chavez and he is truly changing things in South America, the thing is that he has to watch out for the Yankis because they can formulate anything to overthrow a goverment with socialist thinking like they did with Arbenz in Guatemala and Salvador Allende in Chile. Allende was murdered while Arbenz was ridiculed and had to go in exile. I think that with the help of Chavez and the socialist block (of course the embargo has to be lifted) Cuba could achieve the economical stability that it deserves.

Anyone keeping track of the anarchist movement in Argentina? I heard of it a while back, after the peaceful collapse of the Argentinian government. A lot of factories were recovered after the collapse. Perhaps this is what GlassDragon was talking about?

Wikipedia itself is an example of anarchism.
