Im posting this here, because this is quite related to anarchism.

I recently read a wonderful book on Rankism. Rankism is a newly created term, although the idea has been around basically forever.

Society needs ranks in some form or another, unless you advocate total chaos. (not anarchism, of course). But ranks are usually exploited. Someone of a high rank in one category will use their publcity, or power, or others respect to create ower for themselves in manners they know nothing about.

An example of this would be hollywood celebrities telling everyone to vote for their candidate. This example isnt too important in the scheme of things, but others are more damaging.

Also, with rank, people dont give lower "ranked" people the respect and dignity they deserve. The power goes to their head. Examples of this are things like priests molesting children, or other people. Bosses cussing out employs, or maybe molesting them.

Rankism is the combination of all other isms. Racism.. white peole held power over blacks, and it turned out badly. Sexism.. etc etc.

In the books it talks about eople who think that rankism is inherently embedded in the human psyche, and cannot be removed from society. People said the same thing of racism and sexism. It IS embedded in the human psyche in a way, and cannot be removed completely. BUT, if people of lower ranks refuse to stand for the disrespect they recieve, people will be forced to stop rankism, or face removal from their positition

EVERYONE has been on both sides of rankism at some point, and know the feelings both evoke. FOr example, bill gates is white, male, smart, and rich. But as a child he could have been weak and beaten up alot. Oprah is smart, rich, and has a lot of power and respect. She faced a lot of ignorance and hate being both a woman and black in a predominantly white media.

Sorry, someone started talking to me, and i lost my train of thought, so ill just post this now. If something doesnt make sense just ask me. Im gonna make a small second post about how this is related to anarchism.

First of all, I know next to nothing about communism, anarchism, etc. I do know enough to know that anarchism is far from chaos.

I dont really even know enough to make this post. lol. I will say, one of the biggest problems of capitalism is rankism.

Peoples in positions of authority (AKA politicians) seriosusly abuse their rank in nearly every way imaginable. Along with corporate bosses. People are willing to take the shit because of the american dream. Because of greed. They think "this is how the system works", and they want to be ontop of the system, so they go along with it until they get their chance to abuse their authority.

From the minimal information I have about anarchism, it seems that this is one of the major changes that is advocated.

With that said, i want to say that this idea of rankism is not supposed to be new to you. The idea of it is very old. I posted it because sense most of your views correlate with it, you may be interested in these foundations and sites. and maybe the book.
