Does anyone know of cities or states in the U.S. that have Socialist or Communist party senators, mayors, represenatives, city councils, etc ? Do you think it serves a purpose? Didn't Milwaukee, Wisconson have socialists elected at a local level in the early 1900s? I also heard that New Hampshire or someplace around there had the only 'self-proclaimed socialist' in the U.S. Federal Gov't.

vermont's the only state that has non-democrat, non-republican congress members

James Merrill Jeffords, Senator (VT) and Bernard Sanders, Representative (VT)

Both independants

kind of a shame, pretty much you have to agree with all the republican ideals, or all the democrat. there is no middle ground in the U.S.
