1. Why were the locals (Guarani) so indifferent to the guerrillas' cause?
Quote from Che:
'The inhabitants are as impenetrable as stones. When you speak to them it seems as if they are making fun of you deep down in their eyes.'
WHY??
2. I have also heard that Che and his guerrillas learned the wrong language. They learned Quechua rather than the local language. I assume the local language was Guarani. WHY DID THEY NOT LEARN THIS? WHO THE HELL WERE CHE's INFORMANTS (before he arrived)? WHY WERE THEY SO DAMN SHITE!
3. Why didn't Che get any support from the Pro-Peking wing of the Bolivian Communists? Surely they would have been sympathetic to his Maoist views.
IN FACT, APART FROM SILLY LITTLE REASONS, WHY DIDN'T THE COMMUNISTS HELP THEIR COMRADE? ITS RIDICULOUS!
4. Why was Commander Marcos a racist? It just seems ridiculous that Cubans would look down their noses at Bolivians when they are all working for a better South America. WHAT THE HELL?
5. Is it true that Che's asthma was getting worse in Bolivia? Why was this?

1. Why were the locals (Guarani) so indifferent to the guerrillas' cause?
I don't know. Anyone else?
'The inhabitants are as impenetrable as stones. When you speak to them it seems as if they are making fun of you deep down in their eyes.'
Where did you get this quote from? Just curious.
3. Why didn't Che get any support from the Pro-Peking wing of the Bolivian Communists?
They had a conflict with the pro-moscow communist party in Bolivia. I don't think they had a pro-Chinese communist party.
Surely they would have been sympathetic to his Maoist views.
They weren't. At least their leader wasn't. Remember he was accused of being a "Chinese" by the Soviet Union.
IN FACT, APART FROM SILLY LITTLE REASONS, WHY DIDN'T THE COMMUNISTS HELP THEIR COMRADE? ITS RIDICULOUS!
Because they weren't "comrades". They were power-hungry idiots. Not all people who call themselves leftists are on the left.
4. Why was Commander Marcos a racist? It just seems ridiculous that Cubans would look down their noses at Bolivians when they are all working for a better South America. WHAT THE HELL?
I agree, but I have never heard such a thing. I haven't heard much negative of Marcos before either.
5. Is it true that Che's asthma was getting worse in Bolivia?
Yes.
Why was this?
Lack of medicine, little food, sleep, stress etc. He was 39 years old. I don't think he could do all the things he did in Bolivia as easy as he did in Cuba.

Where did you get this quote from? Just curious.
p71 The Great Rebel -- Che Guevara in Bolivia by Gonzalez/Salazar

They did. The Bolivian Communists consisted of a pro-Peking wing, a pro-Soviet wing and some Trotskyites. The question is, why didn't Che get any support from the pro-Peking wing...afterall he was Maoist!
I agree, but I have never heard such a thing. I haven't heard much negative of Marcos before either.
He was demoted for being racist to his Bolivian comrades. Some say this lead to the two Bolivian guerrillas Quintana and Terrazas deserting and ultimately revealing shite-loads of details about the guerrillas.
CHEERS for the asthma stuff!

Thank you.

I didn't know that. Thank you.

I didn't know that he was maoist, either. Sure, he support Mao, but does that make him maoist? I've never heard himself describing himself anything other then "marxist", or "marxist-leninist".
He was demoted for being racist to his Bolivian comrades.
Well, there wasn't many "Bolivian comrades" in the guerilla group.
Some say this lead to the two Bolivian guerrillas Quintana and Terrazas deserting and ultimately revealing shite-loads of details about the guerrillas.
Do you know their nicknames? They went under nicknames instead of their real names in the Bolivian diary. Harry Villegas was Pombo, for instance.

About Che being "Maoist", I think he favored China's communism over Russia's, because he noticed how they worked harder and were more disciplined. They also had less care for the money.
You can find this information in "Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life". There is a whole thing about Che favoring China more than Russia. That started a whole lot of shit against Che, both from Russia and from Cuba.
Cuba depended on Russia the most financially, and when Che spoke out about Russia, he caused frustration amongst others.

No, it was because Che agreed with Mao on the revisionist nature of the USSR at that time. Che was fucked after he critisised revisionism, because Castro was aiming to turn the USSR into an economic pseudo colony, as opposed to Che's line of heavy industrialization.
I think he favored China's communism over Russia's,
Socialism. Even if you could call Russia "Socialist" at the time.

1. Che wasn't 'maoist'- he was critical (justifiably) of the Soviet Union at this time, but he was far from being 'maoist' either.
2. The indigenous people in the region were just as likely to have been Aymara (sorry, no details to hand, and I haven't slept for a day or two). They were 'indifferent' because they could not work out what Che was doing there (no common language- they thought he was a drug smuggler), and because much of the indigenous population of Bolivia lives in conditions that can only be described as feudal or semi-feudal- not the most conducive for initiating socialism (even if he could have communicated his points).
3. The left in Bolivia has always been dominated by Trotskyism. The PCB was a fairly small organisation compared to the rest of the left, and it took it's line from Moscow as though it were a hand puppet. I've never heard of anything notable that resembles a 'peking-faction'. If it had existed, I'm sure it didn't last long...
4. Che's asthma was aggravated by the warm, humd conditions, and a lack of medication when the line of communication with Cuba got cut off.

Why did the line of communication with Cuba got cut off?
Also, to Mahir Çayan:
When you say "Che got fucked", do you mean he had to leave Cuba?
Why did Castro aim to turn the Cuba (you wrote USSR, but I thought you meant Cuba, was I wrong?) into an economic pseudo colonony?
