Just been watching the 10 O'clock news. The government has set back the vote in the house of commons regarding the snooping into people's email and phone call records. Under this legislation they are already allowed to sieze information from internet providers on the web pages visited, and the recepients of email. the are also allowed to view records of mobile phone call destinations. The new bill is aimed at providing these powers to 7 governments agencies; everyone from the NHS to the food standards agency. I don't know about you, but I don't see why anyone should be able to view this information without good reason. These powers can and will be abused.
