Does anyone know of what political persuasion Zach is? Marxist-Leninist? Democratic Socialist? Something else?

I posted that question on his official site under something called "ask Zack", hopefully someone will respond to it soon, maybe even Zach ( I doubt it though)

Maybe we should have an FAQ section on the boards or SOMETHING!! the amount of times RATM, Zach, Bob Marley and the same Che songs are titled in threads is truly mindblowing!! check back through the other ten squillion posts on zach and it might have something there. Don't mean to be rude or anything, but seriously an FAQ type thread or section would save people the hassle of posting already answered questions.

I had always heard that he had Anarchist-leanings (while Tom Morello is supposedly a Maoist, and possible an RCP supporter).

Palmares
28th November 2004, 23:27
I heard that RATM considered themselves as Marxists. Not sure about the truth of the matter. And similar to what SonofRage said, I heard Zack (not Zach) was anarchistic, whereas Morello was red, and the other two were pretty much random leftists.

Haha, yeah, the Hummer driving, major label supporting, mansion dwelling Zach De La Rocha is a Marxist.

And Axl Rose was a Syndicalist !

Morello stated himself as a socialist. Don't know about De La Rocha.

Urban where did you get all this?

I knew about the hummer which I agree is odd if not weak. But are you one of those people who love to hate rage? There are many of you.

Whether De la Rocha is a Marxist/Socialist/Communist or not, it doesn't matter much. His beliefs may be against American imperialism...but in the end he's just another slave to a corporation, as we all are in some form.

Whether he's driving a hummer or Ford's new non-gas powered SUV, it doesn't matter. He's as big a commodity as Battle of Los Angeles, RAGE, or Evil Empire were to the record label and stores.

It doesn't matter what he is, all I know is within this horrible box called capitalism, he alongside RATM gave us great music to listen to.

Well, I've seen pics of him driving a hummer (alone I might add) and I've seen pics of his huge ass mansion, and the back of his CD's tell me he's on a major label.

But are you one of those people who love to hate rage?

Yeah, a little bit. I just don't think it's acceptable for a Communist to live like that. I'm all for luxuries, especially within the context of a Capitalist society, but still, there is just no need for cars and houses of that size. It's just unnecessary (I hate spelling that word), and to be doing all of this while claiming to know how wrong it is, well that's just unfathomable to me.

It's irrelevant how much money he gives away or any of that. The fact is, you shouldn't be living in mansions, period. Go buy a nice house, shit, get a pool and all that. I just think he's embracing his riches a bit too much.

Not that I blame him, I think it would take a man of steel will to posess that kind of cash and not sacrifice some of your ideals.

LOL, I love you UR, thats a classic.

Really ? You love me ? Damn, I always thought there was a kind of comradely animosity between us. If that's not the case then you should take me out on a date this weekend. I prefer French cuisine and won't give it up on the first date. Though I have been known submit to a passionate kiss if the date is particularly stimulating.

The quotes are from ZDLR.com:

my guess is he supports communist, marxism, etc. but he openly supports democracy

democracy, in the way that its power to the people, not the bullshit democrats that call themselves democrats

^my guess

who knows

Probably a marxist zapatista, I think he has moved away from anarchism as it stands, but in the end all marxists (including myself) feel it is the ultimate achievement of any progressive society, eg. the dissolving away of the state.

Marxist my ass but anyway.

Having re-visited the forums at his site makes and having seen the breed of people who post there, it makes me really hate Zack. =D

They even have a button with 'In memoriam, Jeramy Ailes 1982-2004', who was a friend of a regular user. And guess what, poor Jeramy was a Marine who died in the invasion of Fallujah.

Nah, I was kidding. I've never eaten French food. And to tell the truth, I've never even heard of a French restaurant in this country, and definitely not my city.

I'm happy with a 5 dollar plate of Mexican food. But then again, I imagine the Mexican food in England wouldn't be up to par.

Thats because your the bougiousiewee.

Nahh I dunno, the one I used to go to in my old town cost £1.90, for a huge plate. Where I am not it costs about £2 for a small portion. But for some dodgy reason £3.60 for chicken 'n' chips.

I admit I can't really defend the hummer. Especially since he's written many songs about the oil issue. ;)

As for the mansion, I'm sure there's more to it than meets the eye. If I was that rich I'd live in a mansion in the yuppiest exclusive part of town, and I'd keep my buddies from the nastiest parts of town living in it as roomates.

When it comes to celebrities, seeing as you can never be sure what is actually going on in their lives, I tend to get alot more pissed-off about things they say, than thing they apperently do. And by those standards, I'm perfectly happy with Zack.

...or you could buy up huge tracts of land, declare it common ground, and allow all the folks with nowhere else to go to live in the various residences you fund to get built.

Then again, I guess they didn't "work" for it. So I too will echo the sentiment:

Marxist my ass!

It's £4 up here as well - criminal really. Most of the chippies in the area have been bought over by "The Ashvale" too - the quality these days is so piss poor it's unreal.

We used to have a really good chippy too :(
