(Possibly old news, but it was just in the Chicago Tribune today..)

JERUSALEM - Atop the Mount of Olives in the predawn hourrs of April 29, two Israeli settlers from the West Bank planted an explosive device between a Palestinean girl's school and an Arab Hospital in the A-Tur neighborhood of Jerusalem. The men had towed the powerful bomb to the area, detatched the trailer that held it, and set a timer that would detonate the bomb at 7:35 a.m. Just about that time, 1,300 young girls would be gathering in the school courtyard, while patients, doctors and other workers would be arriving for duty at the hospital. Police luckally, discovered and diffused the bomb. "It would have been a disaster if the bomb went off," said a mother of a student at the Benat A-Tur School for girls age 6-12. While not common, experts say individual Israeli acts or terrorism against Arab targets do occur.

This is just an article I got today, in the Chicago Tribune. I never really took a 'side' in this Middle East conflict issue, but I felt that this information should be dispersed. People seem to think that the Palestieans agressivly attack the Israelis, and that the Israelis, have never done anything wrong 'intentionally'. This proves otherwise. It proves that there are Israelis as well, who wish nothing other than to seek revenge, much like the suicide bombers, but far more efficient. Had this attack suceeded, thousands of people could have been killed, mostly children.

this was a loooong time ago. it was like 5-6 months ago. this unfortunate incident uncovered a small militant group of settlers who took part in organizing terrorist attacks to hurt palestinians.

the leaders - noam federman and yehuda levinger (the son of the rabbi who founded the first settlement) - were already caught by the israeli police and they now stand to trial.

but you are really exaggarating by saying thousands. it was really a small charge...

I read it right out of the paper.. It said that 1,300 girls would have been there, if the bomb was big, it might have killed another 700 from the hospital. Hence, 'thousands'.. Maybe not.. Whatever. I'm just posting an article. If you live in Israel you probably found out about this by now, but I guess the Chicago Tribune just got this today. (And the Chicago Tribune is usually Right-Wing and Pro-Israel, so I doubt they would want to exagerate the numbers.)

1300? it was a charge of a few kilograms, and there were hardly 150 girls in the school... the numbers are greatly exggarated...

don't give these people to much credit. it was an improvised, very simple bomb and primitive bomb that would not have done much damage. but the idea behind the bomb, to salughter innocent people because of their leader's policies is sickening.

That's what I was saying Blashpemy. (By the way, supposedly the bomb was mainly gassoline with some nails packed with it... An yeah, I probably could have made a better one..) But still, I don't care if it's 10 people or 1000 people. They tried to take innocent lives, period. And if the palestinean terrorists are looked down upon, so should the Israeli terrorists..

you are absolutely right, drake. i have looked down at these two people - noam federman and yehuda levinger - long before this inccident. they are extreme right-activists who lead propagnda against the israeli left (they have distributed a sticker "no arabs - no terrorism" and "no leftists - no terrorism").
