Hey people,
I imagine your all pretty aware of what Zapatismo is, but for those that don't, it is very simply put a political ideology considered by many as a continuation of Communism that developed amidst the struggle of the indigenous Mayan people of Mexico against the government who would take away their land and way of life. Over the yars the teachings of it's many members began to spread across the world and today it is seen by many as a potential resurrection of the progressive reolvution.
The difference is the Zapatista revolution has never meant to be restricted to Mexico, it has been described by one iconic member, Subcommandante Marcos, infamous now throughout a lot of the world, as a "revolution witohut borders". However, for some time Zapatismo has been without a home on the internet, and indeed, without any kind of international body.
Many people are now coming together to try and change this. Numerous staffers on sites such as TheNoosepaper.com and ZDLR.net, as well as many other just coming into the online activist scene, have begun organising to create this body.
The International Zapatista Forum is in about as early days as it can be, but it has to start somehwere and to progress it needs support. So this is a sort of call to everybody out there willing to contribute on whatever level to this project. I understand many of you will not be too failiar with the principles of Zapatismo, and the thing is, it has never truly been put down to paper. That's part of the aim of this project, and through it the ideology should evolve into something even more practical and complete than it already is. Don't worry about not completely understanding it yet, given the situation it is in almost eveyrone will be learning.
Here it is as it stands on the tech side, not much as I say, but a start. If anybody is interested feel free to contact me in whatever way is best for ya!
