Victor Jara

Someone recommended Victor Jara on here once, I havent been able to find much, but what I have found is great. Any thoughts on this South American artist?

If you like American or British leftist folks music from the 60s, you'll deffinitely love Victor Jara.

I'd buy a disc. Look in amazon.com.
Normally i don't like compilations, but with Victor Jara I went with his anthology. It's pretty good, but you might wanna stick with just a studio album. Depends on what you like.

My personal favourite of Victor's songs is 'Ismael Serrano' along with 'Camil Torres', a song about the guerilla preist.

If you are interested, Victor's wife, Jone Jara wrote a book about Victor which is available in English.
