I've been hanging about this site for about a month now after discovering it surfing for Communist/Socialist websites. I've found it very interesting and enlightening and have finally decided to join.

I'm a 15 year old from Penicuik, near Edinburgh in Scotland. I'm stuck in a high school where 99% of the pupils think that politics is all about men in grey suits in Westminister rambling on forever about issues which have nothing to do with them. How wrong they are of course, but it's still frustrating. The ones that are interested though, are mostly Socialist/Liberal so there is some interest. I've made progress myself, about a year ago most knew little of what Socialism/Communism/Anarchism was but now most of them could have a decent go at describing what they are.

My main interests are music (listening and playing bass), reading and just generally enjoying myself with friends. Politically I would describe myself as a liberal communist (my political compass is Economic Left/Right: -9.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -9.59). I hope that inspires a good few conversations.

I look forward to being an active member of this board. If you've read this I welcome you to stay and talk.

Hey, I'm new too!

A comrad told me about this site, so I decided to check it out.

I hope to learn more about how other people are fighting capitalism these days.

Nice site!

New to it all, Theory, and Opposing Ideologies are all good places to start. Of course, feel more than free to browse and post in the other forums.

Hi everyone. Im new here to, very glad to see there a still people like y'all around.
I would have described myself as an anarchist a while ago, but i reckon *anarchists please dont bite my head off* that anarchism alone wudnt work in the UK, because i think there are criminals in england who are not after anything, money or equality, just to make peoples life a misery. Yea anarchism would fix the inequality of course, but i cant see them suddenly changing, i reckon anarchism would work in places like mexico, cause everyone has a common enemy...we all know who that is, and so would co-operate and work together. So i wud kinda describe myself as an anarcho communist.

thanks for listening

If you're looking to get active locally the best party near you is definitely the SSP.
Go to their website for more information at http://www.scottishsocialistparty.org/.

On another topic, mo chara. Are you just a socialist, or a nationalist/republican as well ?
