Douglas Adams is one of my favorite authors. I am curious, is he considered a leftist? All of the political figures are portrayed as corrupt and evil. And the Vogons are portrayed as an evil industrial empire looking for nothing more than making more and spending less, irrelavent to the cost of others.
He also pokes fun at religon in several ways. One, on the first page of the first book, he openly acknowledges evolution and mocks Christ. Second, the complete collection of books is printed as to look like a bible.
