1. Meddle - Pink Floyd

boring topic, but here goes.

in no particilar order

Fathers and Sons by Muddy Waters
Tommy by the Who
Ziggy Stardust by Bowie
Animals by Pink Floyd
Houses of the Holy by Zeppelin
Mingus Ah Um by Charles Mingus
A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Close to the Edge by Yes
The Incedible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery
What's Goin' On? By Marvin Gaye
Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Highway 61 Revisited by Dylan

More than 5, but I think this is the absolute cream of the crop by the best groups.
Forgive me for choosing the most popular by each group, but these are truly the best,

5. Bad Religion - Suffer

4. CRASS - Stations Of The CRASS

3. Dillinger Four - Situationist Comedy The first Dillinger Four album ended with: "Mixing pop and politics, he asks me what the use is / I'm not one for making excuses / and I'll die the day I find I'm fucking useless." Two albums later, Dillinger four are FAR from useless, and are even fucking CRUCIAL. Pop-hooks are played with an heavyness as vocals trade off over some of the songs of alienation and daily life - real calls for revolution that manage to avoid cliche. Stealing from your boss, religion, and all the usual "punk" topics are here, but, dammit, they're just done a million times better.

2. CRASS - The Feeding Of The 5000 From the opening fuzz and "I am no feeble Christ" to the closing thump of "well? . . . do they?" CRASS's debut is inspired, to say the least. Some people have said that, with CRASS, music took a back seat to politics, but I'm inclined to disagree - on The Feeding Of The 5000 a single set of ideas manifests itself in noise and words, comming to a beautiful whole. And I challenge you to get "Banned from The Roxy" out of yr head.

1. Propagandhi - Less Talk, More Rock This album probably did more to inform my early anarchist beliefs than any source other than Emma Goldman. It played an important role in opening my eyes, and changing my life. It also represents Propagandhi at their catchiest - MOST of the songs on this album are classics and delightfully quotable.

The Holy Bible: Manic Street Preachers
Dark Side of the Moon: Pink Floyd
Abbey Road/Let it Be: The Beatles
Quodrophenia: The Who
The Bends: Radiohead
Never Mind the Bolocks: The Sex Pistols

I realise that's technically seven but it's hard to pin down...

I don't have much to go on considering I've had a personal strike with mass music distribution companies (especially the RIAA) since I was about 14....so I buy MAYBE 1 cd/year brand new, so I don't own many albums...I just have alot of mix cd's that I've made on my own (sshh)

Sade - Promise
Sade - Love Deluxe
Cranberries - No Need To Argue
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Victor Manuelle - 20th Anniversary

Haha, nothing like a bit of variety, eh?

Admittedly, I have listened to three of those albums within the past 12 hours.

Nice list.
But does Tull really deserve two spots?
Who's Next is good, but over rated.
Zepp I is under rated, and I'm glad you chose taht one. Most folks go with Zepp IV, HOTH, or Zepp II.
Do you really think The Yes Album is their best stuff?

I like both albums

Who's Next is good, but over rated.

Maybe. But I still like it, even if a couple of songs are a bit weak, but not terrible.

That's true

Do you really think The Yes Album is their best stuff?

Not exactly. But overall I feel it doesnt have many flaws, as Fragile does. Close To The Edge is good too but I'm not sure if that much. This one has some nice songs, but I have to admit it's a bit weaker than the other records I've mentioned on my list.

This is very hard to do, but I'll give a very loose list, and in no particular order:

Zeppelin II (cliche, yes, but an old fav of mine. My dad played it alot when I was younger).
"Metropolis 2000: Scenes from a Memory" by Dream Theater
"OK Computer" by Radiohead
"A Change of Seasons" by Dream Theater
"Moving Pictures" by Rush

Theres so many, this is an impossible list to do. I'll just keep thinking of them.

I should have added Moving Pictures to my list since it's pretty good.
I heard Scenes From A Memory and I didnt like it too much. I have the A Change Of Seasons song on MP3 and its much much better.
OKC and LZII are good choices.
