If you've never before heard of this, you really don't know what you are missing:

FREE BOOKS! :D

There is so much on the Project Gutenber (http://www.gutenberg.net) website, I won't even begin to list - I'll just link to what has to be the seminal text of the last 200 years.

Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche (http://www.gutenberg.net/dirs/etext03/bygdv10.txt)

It's great being able to find online versions of books but ultimately, I like having actual copies to read on the go.

True; however, a laserjet printer drum will easily print you off scores of books before running dry, and many old businesses are simply throwing these things away now...

I know that I've been using this as "propoganda" at my work; sly like, dropping the occasional text into the smoking room ;) Caught one of the forecasters here reading a little bit of "Revolution vs Reform", and one of the other IT guys was frighteningly interested in "Cuban Democracy".

Damn, I love being a propogandist... it feels so... wrong

Printed copies are just not good enough for me. I'm extremely obsessive compulsive when it comes to books, CDs and games. I like all the original material, proper boxes, proper liner notes etc. It's quite annoying to be honest but still an obsession. At one point, if I got a copied CD, I would go to HMV just to steal the liner notes. =D

Well you're just going to have to learn book-binding then :P

Where I live, I have very little choice as to what I can and cannot get. There are no bookshops in my town, so I have to travel over 20 miles if ever I want to get one - our library (shockingly) has more in the way of Audio CD's and Video DVD's than books! :o :(

If anyone in the UK knows a good online used book sales company (or wants to start one) give me a shout :)
