The Take comes out in Canada this weekend. It is a film about the workers seizing and re-opening the factories that were shut down during the recent economic turmoil.

It is filmed and produced by Avi Lewis, and his wife.
Avi is a third generation leftwing activist. His father is a highly decorated leader at the U.N., and his Grandfather was an important figure in founding the N.D.P..

His wife is the left wing editorialist for one of Canada's National newspapers.

it should be worth seeing if you can. If not it will probably be available on-line somewhere in a couple weeks.

Yeah, It opened in only one theatre here (in Nova Scotia) fortunately it's only a 10 minute walk from my place. Our communist party email account kept getting notices about it, that's how I found out about it.

I saw the film, I thought it was great. A couple people left at the beginning though, I laughed. Definitely worth seeing, but it's more of a documentary than a "movie", which I'm assuming was the general impression recieved.

Having your father highly decorated at the UN is not something to be proud of. :)

Is it being released internationally?
