I recently purchased Franz Ferdinand's album. I think it's wicked. What do you guys think of this Scottish alternative rock band?

He seems like a sell-out to me. But I haven't heard the rest of his songs, only the couple they play on the radio.

I have the Darts of Pleasure single with Darts of Pleasure, Van Tango, and Shopping for Blood.
It's pretty good.
Plus I got it before they were on MTV and on the radio. =D

They're Scottish? That's tight. I love take me out, especially the intro.
The video freaks me out but it's not like I watch tv that much anyways.

I want to take THEM out.
My brother saw them at Oxygen.
I'd say they are the 'best' scottish band since belle and sebastian, to be nice.

they're Fran fucking tastic!!!!!
its not just one guy, its a band you ignoramous.
they recorded their album in Glasgow at the same recording studion my band work with. We were in the day they recorded that album, and we supported them on their first UK tour after it was released. They aren't really my type of music either, or should i pigeonhole and say that their genre isn't really my preference, but there's something about them...
best Scottish band since Runrig!!!!!

musically they are so talented. Ive had the pleasure of listening to them jamming in the same room as me, and they are so good. the music they play is NOT a political statement, and people who are reading politics from their music should be shot! they all take their influences from bands such as Muse, REM, The Strokes, The Clash...but they opted to make indie their destination as a middle ground because they couldnt agree between them. Whats more, they're fantastic guys, and a great laugh....Alex is hilarious after several pints

Apart from that, I think they suck.

Are they like the Pogues in that respect? The Pogues if you didn't know are a band who play Irish folk "punk" music, and everyone thinks they are from ireland, but in reality most of them are from London, but have very strong Irish roots.

Snow patrol, are incomparable to Franz Ferdinand, they both have totally different styles of music.
Razorlight are far more like the Libertines, Kings of Leon and the Killers.
Snow patrol have gone down the same kind of route as Blur and Oasis, with music resembling Britpop.
I also disagree, Snow patrol produce catchy tunes with, in some cases, intelegent lyrics. Just because they aren't singing about suicide, anorexia, death camps, etc like some of the other bands I listen too, doesn't mean that they can be dismissed. The fact of the matter is they produce music which doesn't give me a headache, which is more than I can say for Pete Doherty’s Babyshambles.
