I'm doing a small project for history, basically, it's a 1/2 page newspaper article on the Communist party during the industrial revolution(1840-1910). however, my lack of knowledge on this subject is a bariar. If anyone could give me any ideas, or information, it would be a big help.

Could explore the links with Chartism and the general internationalism that occurred at that time.

The problem is that there are many communist parties at various times in different locations and they were not always united.
If you want to start early as 1840, you can start with reserching the Communist League in Germany which Marx and Engels wrote the Communist Manifesto for. Then the League for the Emancipation of Labor which was one of the first communist organizations in Russia which begain in the 1880's. I think their members turned into the Russian Social Democratic Party. Then you can go into the bolsheviks and Mensheviks the two major communist parties in the early 1900's. You could also mention the first and second International.

You should try doing a brief A4 guide to communism for a Drama class. Not that i am aiming to mock Drama students but many of them need things explaining to them VERY basically. What sort of audience are you writing for?
