View Full Version : Bush and Enron
The Bush administration has said from the beginning that Yeehaw George didn't do anything at all to try to help Enron. Guess what? It's another lie:
Bush Did Try to Save Enron (http://www.consortiumnews.com/2002/052902a.html)
The article is long, but very, very good.

who is ENRON?
"who is ENRON?"
You're kidding, right? It's not a "who," it's a what.
It's an energy company that was the darling of Wall Street and a model for the "new economy," which turned out to look a lot like the old economy. Allegedly, Enron hid massive amounts of debt in offshore accounts and went bankrupt. Many employees lost most of their retirement accounts. Also, internal memos show that Enron created artificial shortages of electricity in California in order to inflate the price.
It's really hard to believe that you've not heard about this. It's been in the news for months.
Here are a couple of resources:
ZNet's Enron Page (http://www.zmag.org/CrisesCurEvts/enronpage.htm)
Public Citizen's Enron Information Center (http://www.citizen.org/cmep/energy_enviro_nuclear/electricity/Enron/#106)

I WAS JOKING. I have two tvs and i watch them often just not the news. I only watch comedy central once in awhile. I don't even know what channel the news is on because I don't have a tv guide at the moment. And I'm not about to take my sweet ass time to flip through the channels.

Ever hear about CNN, MSNBC, or Fox News Channel? It just seems right for someone who cares about politics or current events to keep up every once in a while.

I keep up with current events after they lose their currentness. I am having enough trouble as it is, researching about the past. I can only do so may things at a time.

It really doesnt. I just feel I need to know what is going on in the world. I don't consider ignorance to be a bliss.

hmmm. I do the best I can. And yet when I ask a question here, I get laughed at. I'll stop asking questions and prevent myself from exposing my stupidity. :(
