So, trade between the two countries do not exist at all? No US items are in Cuba? Not even remnents of Batista's regime?

And in America, there is no Cuban items at all? Are certain things allowed into Cuba/US?
What about all those hotels in Cuba...are those from other places, like Canada, Europe, etc?

There are still trading between the two countries but they do it by going through third party sources in either the Caribbean or Europe but its only for little things nothing major .... do for sure pay the Cuban sate for the use of guantanamo bay they have since the 1800's.

The Netherlands and Canada are Cuba's two largest trading partners.

Although I beleive most trade is restricted to air transport rather than by sea.

I go to the store and buy several Cuban cigars a year. and at least some of the sugar processed here comes from Cuba. I have know Idea what we send them besides tourists

The U.N. has voted to end the embargoe dozens of times, but the U.S. uses their vetoe.

Most of Cuba's imports come from Europe. When i was there, it was hard to find anything american. But now they've managed to import some CocaCola in order to make their national drink "Cuba Libre", back in the height of the cold war, they didn't have any coke so they had to buy a realy realy cheap version of it from Chekoslovakia - apparently it tasted horrible.

So yea, the embargo is realy doing its job: its hard to find Cuban stuff in the states and its hard to find american stuff in cuba!

I think what he is trying to say is this:

"The World will change! But the United States much change first.
While the people of the United States sleep deeply - they are
losing the younger Americans by sleeping deeply as well."
