Is this ever a good tactic for Communists to use? I know many Communists dont like it as it only helps those who the communists are fighting (the attacks make the governmnet have an even tighter hold, and the people will most likely be more supportive of them) but is there ever any situation in which this tactic would be advocated by Communists?

I can't see how it could be of any use! Look at what the media has done to Islam because of the 9/11 attacks! Remeber the 'Red Scare' ( I wasn't actually around at the time but you know what I mean) No, unfortunatly the Cap. Media would use this to sulley the name of Communism further IMO it would put the Commie movement back decades.

So, in your opinion, how do we do more than talking about Communism and activism? Surely there is a way we can pressurise the capitalists so much that we can crush them?

Like Trotskyist_SP said, through media it would only drive people to alienate the commie terrorists. Im also intrested to know what your terrorism would involve, in modern terms it seems to be attacking a civil population, from a commie point of view your killing your own side. Maybe attacks on the government, i dunno open top car, dallas, italian rifle, a marxist and a president?

We need to mobilse the workers, just like in a 'bugs life' it wasn't until it was spelt out to them that the ants realised they could overthrow the grasshoppers. Working within trade unions and speaking to people on the streets will make a good start but if your not out there putting the word out then how are people gonna know there is an alternative? A few comrades from our party recently got in the paper after they joined a picket line for the PCS union who are striking for better pay and conditions. I think the miners strike could have been revolutionary if not for the very bad and misguided leadership of the Union and the Labour party.

Hell no for this tactic.

Captalism is doomed to fail, we can accelerate the process of it by raising the awereness of the public. Their GENUINE support is our only solution, only way to genuine victory.
As regards to how.... any opinions?

It's difficult, even more if you are impatient!
The media is so full of shit, it's really hard to get your voice heard. But I try anyway. Writing to local newspapers, hoping to get published. By talking to people about why all jobs are going to lowpay countries far away. Why Tiger Woods gets more money than every worker in Indonesia. And carp like that. Demonstrations.
Sounds petty, but hell, it's better than doing nothing.
Most people just don't know what socialism or communism stands for, they are in grip of powerful media. Violence would just make things worse, I think.

Good stuff I agree, it sounds like you're are the right track Cath. Untill we get an open free media though we will never have a prominent voice in society and the shit the media trills out about Communism will continue to be heard!!
