Comrades,
Each year, for the past two decades, the Irish Republican Socialist
Committees of North America has sent books to INLA prisoners of war
during the holiday season, to demonstrate the solidarity with them
expressed by the many supporters of the Irish Republican Socialist
Party in Canada and the United States.
Over the years, these donations have contributed to the once
impressive library of the INLA wing at Long Kesh and the ongoing
library of the INLA wing at Portlaoise. We are again initiating a
call to all supporters of INLA POWs to make a contribution this year
to the effort. We welcome donations of new or used books on
socialism, syndicalism, anarchism, Irish history, anti-imperialist
struggles of other nations, liberation struggles against sexism and
heterosexism, radical works on sociology, anthropology, political
economy, Irish language texts, and novels with strong political
themes. We also welcome cash contributions, because the cost of
sending these packages of books to the POWs can be quite expensive.
In order to ensure that they reach the POWs by the holidays, we need
to ask that donations be sent to the IRSCNA by November 1st. Those
wishing to donate, please send to:
