Despite doing countless searches for a Che book I haven't read on the Intenret for a while, I came across a book I'd never heard of whilst looking through the University library yesterday.

"Che's Guerilla War" by Regis Debray. It's only small, but interesting none the less. I'm puzzled as to why I'd never heard of this book.

I dont know if I like Regis Debray so much...I know history judges him as some sort of left wing hero and that Ciro Bustos is the Judas in the story of Che, but after seeing Sacrificio my views on him have changed

I haven't seen Sacrificio, and nor do I know what it is. But it is true that Bustos was set up as the man who betrayed Che.

Of course, it was Debray who did the sketches and squeeled the most about the guerillas. Of course Debray betrayed Che.

Well...in Sacrificio two Swedish film makers make a documentary on who betrayed Che Guevara, history judges Bustos as the guilty one because he made the drawings (Bustos was an artist), however they interview Bustos and he tells them that he only drew the guerillas the soldiers had already seen and then he drew a whole bunch of guerillas who didnt even exist! Che Guevara signed Bustos on so that he would start a socialist revolution in Argentina.

Later on they also interview Debray, but he doesnt want to talk about all this and in a friendly way tells the documentary makers to fuck off, later they also interview some french writer who wrote an "important" book on Che Guevara and he defends Debray and fully blaims Bustos, however this writer and Debray are good friends. Even the captors of Che get interviewed and also Felix Rodriguez but they claim Debray told more too...well Im not 100% sure on the last one though <_<
