View Full Version : My Controversial Research Paper
Paradox
23rd October 2004, 04:16
I am writing a research paper for my English class, and the teacher gave us a short list of topics from which we could write about. One of these topics is Homeland Security and the Patriot Act. Thanks to the link Hampton gave me in response to my "9/11 Secrets" post (Thanks a lot Hampton, I appreciate it), I came up with this: In the days before 9/11, the FBI shuts down Arab Muslim websites, including that of Al-Jazeera. Then on 9/11 the 5 Israelis are arrested after being seen cheering the 9/11 attacks. They are held for 71 days, then deported. Then the government produces the "confession" tape as "proof" that Osama bin Laden was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Because amerika is under attack, the government needs to have better "intelligence capabilities." Enter the Patriot Act and the violation of civil liberties. And since Osama is "responsible" for the attacks, we have to go after him. Enter the war on "terror," and the war in Afghanistan. And since Saddam has chemical weapons (the ones the u.$. gave him), we have to go after him, too. Enter the war in Iraq. So, 9/11 was basically, a tool to justify all of this crap. What do you think? Sound good, or should I add something else? I'd like your opinions and suggestions. Tlazohcamati ("thank you" in Aztec).

If I were you I would include all of these allegations, but at no point state them as if they are true - that would just bias whoever is marking against you. By all means state these ideas and make the reader think they are true by independant reading, but keep any bias you have till the end.
*Edit*
Oh yeah, include something on the PNAC, and the need for a 'pearl habour like event.' That is bound to have an affect on the reader.

You should mention that no proof has been shown of who was behind the attacks of 9/11. People are taking the word of a government that has history of not telling the truth, cite the wrong Iraq war intelligence as an example.

If you are going to pursue what is referred to as the "Israeli connection" you may want to mention times in the past where Israel has tried (or attacked) U.S. targets and tried to blame it on Arab nations.
Research Operation Suzannah (or the Lavon Affair) as well as the U.S.S. Liberty

Good point.

Sounds a bit like Farenheit 9/11 to me. Sorry to burst your bubble. It was controversial when Michael Moore made a film about it; it is no longer.

It was hardly contraversial when MM made a film about it. Micheal Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man.

Did Farenheit 9/11 discuss the Israelis? I have not seen that movie. So, MM already linked all of these things together? The shutdown of the Arab Muslim websites before 9/11, the fake Osama "confession" tape, Hamid Karzai put in control of Afghanistan, the fake intelligence to justify the war in Iraq, he discusses all of this?

He probably convinced a helluva lot of people to not vote Bush. So what if he is fat and stupid, what have you done to help, hmm?
