Drug use in the workplace

This past week I was working the late shift at a 24-Hour resteraunt, around 1 or 2 am our server for the night went into the back and smoked pot. I didnt think anything about it because i really didnt care, but i wanted to know what is your opinion of using drugs while working?

Under wage-slavery, I'm all for it. When you're working with other people however, it's somewhat inconsiderate. Certainly true if you're not sharing at any rate!

As long as the smoking of pot would not lead the injury of any fellow workers or bystanders. I wouldn't want a doctor who had just blazed.

But, as he's a server, I guess I'm ok with it.

It all depends. As long as it didn't effect the way they operate, then there shouldn't be anything wong with it. If the resteraunt was dead and it wasn't getting any business at the time when they went to go smoke that, then it's understandable.

I think even the biggest "pothead" would be shocked to learn how much drug use there is at workplaces everywhere.

You see those signs "This Is A Drug-Free Workplace!" and a bunch of guys on their breaks passing around a joint right next to the sign. :lol:

I knew this fellow a few years ago who got a job as a bartender at a prestigious hotel. He had to take a drug test so he bought a bottle of that expensive and vile-tasting liquid (it has a chemical that binds to traces of marijuana so the test won't detect it) and passed his test.

End of his first shift behind the bar arrives and the supervisor invites him into "the back room"...and offers him some cocaine!

I worked in an office once where one of the secretaries asked me if I "needed anything"...she was a dealer herself (on a small scale) but carried a "full line" of "products".

Drugs are everywhere now.
