just wanted to know what the best gig some of y'all have been to....
had the distinct pleasure of watching RATM and meeting the band...it was one of the best experiences ever, beacuse i had to travel to the states for it...
either them or a British band called Muse....im sure most of you will have heard of them...

Leftover Crack, Morning Glory, and the Daycare Swindlers this past June in Red Hook Brooklyn.
LoC is the shit and Morning Glory played an awsome show.

I'm going to say any one of the Closet Monster shows I've been to is worthy of note - they're amazing, the most energetic band I've ever seen live (Jump around non-stop), they spend the time in between their songs calling for various sorts of resistence (Inciting to steal spraypaint?), and they actually respond to crowd requests - even for older songs.
Leftover Crack are, likewise, awsome live.
To paraphrase: Cops kill people all the time, but they don't get killed enough. These two songs are about killing cops.

Toxic Narcotic is awesome live. Other good bands I've seen are T.S.O.L., New Earth Creeps, D.I. and Black Sabbath.

Feeder are amazing live.

Heh, which reminds me of Frank Discussion/Feederz. I haven't seen them, but there's a healthy history of Frank Discussion doing things like playing with live crickets glued to his head, pulling guns on the crowd, etc.
*Sigh* To have seen them "back in the day".

I would have to say Run DMC....they had an amazing show, they totally caught me by surprise. Sure, seeing Sade was the most GLORIOUS experiences in my life that I can now die in peace  , but their performance is kinda boring in comparison...

It was a fantastic mix of music and a kind of performance and/or modern art.

Yea, the main reason we went was to see Toxic Narcotic. It was a small venue and and we dident find out they were not coming until almost the end of the show, dont know what happened to them, just probally not a big enough gig for them and decided to skip it.

You would not be disappointed. Beg, borrow, steal a ticket next time they come around.

I doubt they will, unless they have an international tour after the release of the next album, which is supposed to be the last one! :o :(

I've only ever seen Sam Roberts live (well, he was the only one worth mentioning). It was pretty good, all things considered.

I'm really not sure what to answer here: Best "act", best "performance"?
I'll compromise on my favourite...
A short while ago, I visited the QMU in Glasgow to watch what must be one of the most mellow bands, touring for their Under the Western Freeway album - Grandaddy.
If you've been living under a rock for the last five years, I suggest you have a listen to this (http://www.ianrstewart.plus.com/mp3/Grandaddy%20-%20Under%20The%20Western%20Freeway%20-%2003%20-%20Collective%20Dreamwish%20Of%20Upperclass%20Eleg ance.Mp3)
...and then find out when they're next going to be coming past you :P
The "best live act" I ever saw was at the Reading Festival though: Daphne and Celeste getting bottled live on stage. Brilliant.
