As I know, her daughter is a pediatrician and a communist at the same time and his son is also following Che's example. I think he travels a lot and gives some talk about his father.

I really doubt it. Seeing that they don't speak English what are the chances?

I met a man who has been to Cuba shook hands with Fidel and met Che's niece but no word of his children.
The man told me that the people in Cuba look at Fidel as a more of a god than a person, especially the ones that were their for Batista.

Wow, I would like to shake hands with Fidel! not just because he's 'Fidel', but to be so close to a great man, show him my tribute. Also talking to someone that knew Che, hhm, that would make my day!

Che's youngest son, who was only about 3 or 4 when Che died is indeed more capitalist than anything. In fact, I've heard that he's made speeches against his father's revolutionary movement.

If I find the link, I'll be sure to post it.

Could you tell me more informations about Che's youngest son? If I am not mistaken his name is Ernesto Guevara named on his famous father's name. It's a huge surprise and disappointed thing if he is a pro-capitalism and against values which his father died for. I know Che's oldest son, Camilo Guevara, worked in The Fisher Ministry of Cuba ago 7 years (I don't know if he is going on working there now). And I think he is a real communist and very smart. I have read a report of interviewing him. That's all I know about Che's children. I am eager to have more informations about them (Hidita, Aleidita, Celia and Ernesto). If you know please tell me. Thanks for that very much!

Do you think that, they too, will run a "revvy"-schtick an' go all radical and revolute, and, perhaps even accomplish what they father have failt? WHO KNOWS!? Hopes so, atleast.

I dont think any of them will lead a revolution. They seem more content with the current situation than their father was.

Camilo indeed is very smart and loves his father very much. Hildita and Aleidita also remember their father and love his ideal for which he gave his life for. I don't really know about Ernesto or Celia, if anyone knows about them please post more info on them. Thanks comrades!

Hi, am new to this board, Hello everyone!
Hildita Guevara Gadea was the only one that follow che footsteps
and I learn of her untimely dead while reading Jorge Castaneda "Compa~nero"
there was some sort of alienation of Hildita by che's other sons and daughters and including che's wife Aleida according to Casta~nedas book.
which in my personal opinion explains the silence around her entire life and therefore
almost everyone knows about the sons and daughters of the "offical" family.
there was also apparently a son by another woman other then Aleida. don't remember
her name at the moment but i do know his name: Omar Lopez not carrying che's name
He was presented to Hildita and instantly became friends....until her dead, according to Casta~neda's book.
Personally i do not care much about che's sons only Hildita, always did. that picture of che with her stuck in my mind forever don't know why. and it kills me to found out that she lived in my hometown for a while and i never knew about it!
and if you don't know a little bit of her story here is a link to Canek Guevara, che's grandson with whom you might not agree with in respect of his view about Fidel but he
has a right to chose a life of his own and one can only respect that.
Hasta Siempre Hildita!
ps: the site is in spanish so you might want to try altavista Babel Fish Translation.
does not translate accurately but you will get the idea..

I was shocked by the news of Hildita's death. I cared for her as I do his other children and reading you post really broke my heart. Everybody has a different opinion about Fidel and mine is to follow him. I respect the opinion of everybody else. Thanks for the link and welcome! :)

Hi, I'm new

Aleida Guevara is a renowned pediatrician at the Havana Children’s Hospital and a prominent figure in the anti-globalisation and anti-war movements. She was a principal speaker at the European Social Forum in 2004 and at the World Social Forums in 2003 and 2005.

She's giving a lecture at my university this Friday on "Che and the winds of change in Latin America"

Che's daughter, Hildita is the only one who became a true revolutionary, Because of her outspokeness... she often gets the silent treatment from Cuban leadership.

But I don't think they know much about their father. He died while they was so young.

The lecture was tonight. It was good. I had her sign my copy of her book and I snapped a couple photos. I'll share when I get my film developed if you're interested.

Here's the autograph. Can anyone figure out what it says?? The writing's messy as is but when you don't speak Spanish well, its even harder. All I recognize is my name and pueblo/town.

Some of the info related to his children is as follows:-

Aleida Guevara, his eldest daughter, is now touring the world to separate the myth from the man. It is a personal journey as much as a political one.
She bears a remarkable resemblance to her father and like him, she has studied medicine. Che was passionate about the future of young people. Aleida, 42, expresses her passion for youth through her work as a pediatrician at a children's hospital in Havana, where she lives.

- Camilo, Celia, Ernesto - all now working in Cuba, two as lawyers and one as a vet specialising in dolphins.

More on them........laterzzzzz.......Comrades
