Not that I have any kind of faith in American "democracy". But does anyone here buy the argument that if Kerry were to win the election, it would save Iran, and Syria?

Personally I'm torn.

The argument being pushed by many on the left is....

"Why did we attack Iraq? Iran has ties to al qaeda and is building nukes."

As if a war against Iran would be any less imperialistic in nature than a war against Iraq. The funny thing is, the people in power will use this argument to attack countries like Iran. They are basically providing the justification/approval for another war.

When it comes to John Kerry....I leave you with a piece written by him.

I personally believe that not a new war, but a draft, is more likely if Kerry wins the election. Kerry has stated that he plans to add 40,000 troops. I don't know how he would plan to do this without having a draft.

Of course Kerry would attack them. Possible targets lie in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Whether he does get elected or not, there will be other military interventions elsewhere.

Exactly. I don't buy the story that it matters who is going to be elected, it's not that one of them is going to change american politicy. It's already clear that they want there hands on the middle east, for example, and no president is going to stop that. Whatever they're saying now. It's just a matter of time.

No doubt, I am often too easily persuaded that there might be some hope. :D

And I love how you started the post: Left?
