I would suggest Critique of the Gotha Program and Socialism: Utopian and Scientific; both are accessible, diverse and highly important to Marxist thinking.

Good reading!

You would have a little trouble finding those pamphlets in bookshops -- I'd imagine.

The web.

Critique of the Gotha Programme (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1875/gotha/index.htm) -- Karl Marx

Socialism: Utopian and Scientific (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1880/soc-utop/index.htm) -- Frederick Engels

Enjoy!
