Sweden should have won the game and England will struggle even more against Argentina or Nigeria aswell.

England is the most hyped up team of all time probably. They play boring predictable football, they have terrible passing, terrible technical ability and a crap defence. I expected a draw or a victory for Sweden, and I suppose they desereved to win.
I mean surely, you can't expect anything from a team in which David Beckham is the star player and their only way of scoring a goal is to kick the ball up front and hope for the best. I suppose the best aspect of this draw is that it will (for the time being) reduce the excessive and unjustified hype surrounding the England team.

I am rooting for several teams (I live in Canada, part of North America- football wasteland) and even I was very disappointed to see England's performance. Was Owen even on the field? The commentator said he was, but I couldn't tell. Good for Campbell to get in there and score his first international, but England really should have won this game. And later in the group games they are going to wish they had. Maybe Mills can make another pitiful amateur mistake in the next game?
LOL, this was probably the only thread in General Politics I have an opinion on right now because I am taking the month off. LOL, if my boss hadn't agreed to let me come in earlier in order to leave earlier, I probably would have quit by now.

Ah, you had to ask! lol lol lol... This is hard for me because I am rooting for both teams (damn I wish I lived in a football country so I could just root for my national team instead of being stuck in the football wasteland).
Honestly, I don't think it will be as high scoring, and if the Germans keep tight in the back the game should finish 2-1, or maybe even 1-0. I see the Germans as one of the darkhorses at the World Cup if they can hold the midfield strongly, stay focused, and attack hard. I love to watch the Germans play, but most of my family is of Irish descent so I am hoping for Ireland to pull out a draw tonight (although, I don't see it).
On a side, GO PORTUGAL!!! GO PORTUGAL!!! GO PORTUGAL!!! Play the beautiful game you know you can and spank those Yanks!!!

Well, I was hoping for the outside chance of a draw, and, to my great surprise, Ireland pulled it off. I do think that they deserved the draw though. Ireland better be huge against Saudi Arabia now and hope that Cameroon is put away by Germany. Although, that would only lead to a second place in Group E which leads straight to (most likely) facing Spain in the Round of 16. We'll have to see how Spain continues, but they seem on fire now and I wouldn't like to see Ireland have to face them.

Although I am rooting for Ireland and Sweden, I hope the poor countries do well. Senegal! What a laugh.
Well being Irish I want Ireland to win but there's a fat chance of that happening. I have a bet on Portugal to win so hopefully they will. If they're knocked out I'll go with Germany.
FoH, whoever gets past group E will either play Paraguay or Spain depending on their finishing places.

there are multiple scenarios in the group both for and against irelands advance: FOR
1)germany beat cameroon-ireland win against saudi.
2)Cameroon beat the germans-ireland beat saudis.
3)Cameroon & germany draw-Ireland beat saudi 2-0
.................................................. .......................................
against:
1)ireland lose to saudi arabia.
2)Ireland win 1-0,and theres a draw in cam & ger(althoughh that cud be weird if it were 1-1 in german game)

I can't even imagine Cameroon beating Germany, maybe a draw if the Germans were bored, and stoned, and drunk, and tired. But to rest the hopes of the Irish on a German defeat is...well, just misguided faith in my opinion. I mean, Germany should advance anyway if it came down to goals because of draws.
Ireland better be huge against Saudi Arabia, and I am hoping they will. The Saudis are out anyway, they should just let Keane and Company score like crazy lol ;)

Well, the English have always moaned on and on about the hand of God, I believe the Argentinians now can moan about the foot of God after that spectacular dive by Owen.
The only time they beat argentina since 1966, and they needed a controversial penalty to achieve that. Still not impressed. As for the the actual cup, well England have no chance in hell of winning it whilst the likes Brazil, Italy and Spain are still in there, and I still believe that Argentina are still in it.
