hey, respect to the Finns tho. Your country put up a hell of a fight against the USSR in the Winter War (1939-1940). Talk about david vs. goliath, jeez. Even tho I agree with the Soviet philosphy (not Stalin's tho), the numbers in the battles are quite impressive. A nation that can implement a ratio of 70,000 casualties on it's side to 700,000 casualties for the enemy is certainly not a group of pushovers Reuben.

First off, Finland was deliberately attacked by the USSR and held it's own for a while. This meant of course that they had stationed ALL of their forces on the eastern border so when the NAZI's decided to go ahead with the invasion of Russia, they basically walked right through the backdoor of Finland untouched. So in a way, Finland was forced to comply with Nazi soldiers being sent through their country, which was democratic and not fascist or communist. They kind of got fucked up the ass by both sides because they were a new nation and a stepping stone in the path of both the USSR and the Nazi's. As for TavareeshKamo, it certainly sucks to be you because everyone knows that that power plant isn't supposed to be operational because it is in a high-risk earthquake area. It was only opened back up because of the energy crisis caused by your bastard neighbor's sanctions. My heart goes out to Armenia though, I hope your country can pull itself back together and repay Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Iran for stealing the Armenian people's lands and persecuting you for your religion and ethnicity. Nuclear power is the only viable way for finland to comply with the Kyoto treaty. Solar and tidal power can only go so far. However I am against nuclear power,but I can see the Finnish goverment point of view. Also are there any recorded incidents of major accidents @ a finnish nuclear power station?

but there was a huge earthquake in northern Armenia that killed "25,000 people and left 400,000 homeless"? (source-encarta) Surely you remember that. It happened in December of 1988. actually, Reuben, I would say that Ariel Sharon IS about as nice as he looks. The motherfucker is pretty damn ugly. also, racial tensions aren't appropriate for the Communist-Socialist-Anarchist cause but still, if you read up on what almost EVERY other race or country in the region has done to the Armenians, wouldn't YOU be a little pissed? It's a reason, not an excuse, however, to remain predjudice. I don't know much about anything BUT history, but I am very accomplished at history, and the Armenians have been slapped around like a two dollar whore on a saturday night special for about 3,000 years. Anyway, I know that Terrible things have been done to the Armenian people such the genocide of 1.5 million and the mass killings and rapings that have occurrred, made worse by the way there are bastards like Ellie Weisel who insist on denying the Armenian holocaust. but like you said it is a reason not an excuse. It is understandable but it is not an intellectually valid or even legitimate standpoint to take, not least for a socialist. I also do not know a great deal about Armenian history.

If Kamo was uneducated I regard his comments as understandable, yet by saying he hopes a nuclear power station explodes into turkey to "teach them a lesson" is advocating a kind of Genocidee of his own.
