Any of you guys seen Paloma de Papel? Right now here in Norway there is a film festival that has movies from all around the world and yesterday I saw one of the best movies I have ever seen. Its called Paloma de Papel and it is a story about a boy and about Sendero Luminoso (The Shining Path), that shows a little bit of what the campesinos have had to endure during the 80's and 90's. As usual the campesinos always are the victims because both the rebels and the government are killing or taking them away, the senderistas kidnapping children and brainwashing them or the government putting the people in jail for being suspected rebels. There is a website about the movie at Paloma de Papel (http://http://www.palomadepapel.com/)
The directors name is Fabrizio Aguilar and its his first movie as a director, but he is also a famous actor in Perú and I met and had a chat with the guy yesterday, a really nice person.
The music is made by one of the most famous Peruvian singers, Gianmarco.
If you can see the movie go and see it, its a really strong movie. He made the movie with almost no budget but the actors did an excellent job and the movie is just excellent.
I think that if it had been an Hollywood production with more famous actors it wouldve swept the Oscars.
