I have read many books, like the Manifesto, and Das Kapital, but I still can't quite understand it all. Can anybody possibly help me? Oh, and i am a freshmen in highschool, but you can use any sort of terms you like. I will understand.

Well, give us some examples of things that you don't understand and there's plenty of people here who would be willing to help explain it to you.

Das Kapital is a very tough read, something which I've not tried myself. It's best to have a good grasp of economics before delving into it, not to mention plenty of time. There's probably not many people here who've read it, or even a single volume. I can only think of one possible person to be honest. Much of the book has become quite outdated and needs an entire refreshing.

Well, I guess you mean communism, Socialism, Anarchism ect. Im sure we'd be happy to help, buts its a pretty big topic to explain all at once:P . Is there anything specific you want to know? or is it a general question. If its general I can give you a brief explanation of the ideologies, if its specific then just let us know and we'll get back to you asap.

Welcome to the forums comrade. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks. Actually, my question should be how are the theories that Rebel Marxist mentioned used today? I know in theory for the 1800's, but I am not actually up to date in how one could use them today.

Yeah, Das Kapital is hard reading. I've read the first book, plus the first half of the second book. I became tired of reading the same sentence five times, so I started reading Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1916/imp-hsc/index.htm). It's a critique of capitalism, written by Lenin. I think it could be easier to read then Das Kapital. It's also a more updated book (Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism was published in 1916 . Das Kapital was published in three volumes from 1867 to 1895.)

I started reading those books in my last year of middle school, trust me, you will not understand it until about your 3rd time reading the whole book from top to bottom! Also what helps is to find someone to talk to about it, for you don't get misguided or some misconceptions of the theroy.

Lenins book is ok, complicated but pretty good, all the same.
