How can a family, that everything that does is get drunk and wave to people be the richest family in the world? they dont even rule !!!!!!!!! all the europeans royal familys do is apear in the magazines and make scandals and they are worshiped!!!!! i ant belive it okay maby Diana was a good person and helped many people (shes the only good royal person i know) do anybody want to hear about madre Theresa of calcuta? about all the people that give their lives for helping other people' how can someone that in its life all he done is waving to people be so famous? they do nothing and have all!!!! its disgusting!!! i tell you it makes me crazy!!!! everybody cried a lot at diana funeral but when madre teresa of calcuta died the people that cried were not even half of the ones that were in the streets making poor scenes at diana funeral, madre theresa gave its life for the poor!!! and Diana only some months!!! Rock stars deserve more fame that royal people at least they worked for their fame!!!! this world is really a mess!!! And people get soo angry when someone that works all day fore a small pay says royals suck!!! It makes me sick very sick!

I come from Malaysia, and our political system is based on England's constitutional monarchy, a relic of the colonial past.

The weird thing is, England has one sovereign King/Queen, and an elected parliament. Over here, we have one sovereign Prime Minister, and an elected royalty. Funny, eh?

That's because our current prime minister, like most Asean heads of state, has managed to hold on to his throne for the past twenty (yes, twenty) years. His party, the United Malays National Organisation (Umno) is the main component party in a coalition that includes the Malay Chinese Association (MCA) and the Malay Indian Congress (MIC), along with other small fry. All the above-mentioned parties were formed before my nation's Independence, which was acheived in1957.

We have elections (I still don't know what for) every five years, but it's basically been the same government ever since I first shat my pants in kindergarten, and fell of a bicycle on the way home.

Our ruling elite come from similar class/social backgrounds and the same even institutions of higher education. Most were groomed to fit their roles, like the members of royalty, who are still around as 'keepers of the Faith'.

Now, isn't this all fun?

I think the only monarchies that actually rule anything are in the middle east. European monarchies (with the notable exception of Spain) are just national traditions like folk dance and monuments. Rey Juan Carlos has shown some real leadership in time of crisis, so I give the Spanish royalty, who are relatively poor by royal standards, a thumbs up.

as far as i know the british royals also have some companies.thats why its "double unfair" that the british royals still get some percent from the taxes.
