This is a song called "Dinosaurs" written in the late '70's by a guy in my area who has a band.
He usually starts the song off when performing by saying something random like, "Speaking of petrochemicals," or something along those lines. Here are the lyrics.
Think about the dinosaurs
Tyranosaurus, Brontosaurus
Buried deep beneath the sands of time
Along coe the man child
drillin deep for gold
Pumps whats left of ancient time up through a little hole
He puts it in his car and drives down the street
The dinosaurs all died for you and me
Think about primeval swamps,
prehistoric garbage dumps
the pressure of the ages grinds the bones
Along come the man child
out to tame the land
Takes apart a mountainside and ships it to Japan
The things Japan ships back are such a sight to see
The dinosaurs all died for your TV
Whatcha gonna leave behind when it's your turn to go?
How long's it gonna take this age to die and decompose?
And will they dig us up to use for fuel?
It's hard to think you'll die for such a fool!
Think about the sun that shines
beamin' down so warm and fine
Think about the wind and waterfalls
Along come the man child
searchin' for a soul
Instead of looking to the sky he looks down in a hole
Spends all of his time on what comes free
The sun and wind and waterfalls
are still waitin' to be seen
Oh, but he's up to his ass in a hole in the ground
and he's too blind to look up and dumb enough to look down
And if you ask him why he'll say it's history
The dinosaurs all died for you and me
The dinosaurs all died for you and me
The dinosaurs all died for you and me
