Governor Vetoes Controversial Drug Bill
Sept. 30 (ABC7) — Arguing he had little choice given federal law, Governor Schwarzenegger has turned down an effort to let Californians buy cheaper drugs from Canada.
The Governor said he doesn't want to promote illegal activity while rejecting proposals for websites that would list safe Canadian pharmacies and bad ones.
He also wouldn't allow state agencies to consider Canada when buying prescriptions for prisons, state hospitals or the state-run health care program for the poor called Medi-Cal.
