Right here goes honesty, the b+w one is better because the colour one is halfway between photo and silhouette, but the photo isn't much anyway, good sense of composition maybe a little too obvious and pedestrian train your eye to move out more. Feels too much like John Shaw trying to be Mapplethorpe to me but I really do like your one of the dead lily that is a very good photo.

BTW TAD a macro is a close-up lens

Thanks for all the comments guys, And yes I am from Cape Town South Africa. And The Arcadian Dream do you always lick dogs :D . Anyway So I have played around with the contrast of the b&w image of the church I think It looks better. And please keep in mind this is the first time that I took photos, I am a rank amatuer. And thanks for the crit La Vista, are you a photographer,.

macro shot is use to take a shot of tiny thing and still have a perspective focus effect
magnifying without magnifying.
your camera must be at most 50cm from the subject.and you will get a nice deapth effect with a out of focus view
great flowers.
