Just wanted to know if any one knows anything concrete on the whole invasion deal?

Define concrete.

I heard it was the FBI, with a few bits from the U.$. military and remnants of the pre-Castro leadership trying to recapture Cuba. However the USSR or Cuba had intelligence beforehand and so easily defeated the badly organised attempt.
I was taught that in History at College (in the UK that is not U.$. college) but not in any great depth. It could be right, but it could be wrong. I don't know any more than that. I will see if there's any more about it in any of my old books if I remember.

By concrete i mean, how it actually went down. I heard it was something about a tape recorder and flashing lights?

Yes, the 1200 men who were taken prisoner were actually inside the tape recorder. This is how Cuba won so quickly. All the did was seize the tape recorder from the boat. 100 Men were killed too, but those were just the guys operating the flashing lights.

You might be thinking of the diversionary operations off Havana and...somewhere else. Those were bluffs intended to divert Cuban forces away from the main landing at Playa Giron/Bay of Pigs.

An American, member of the CIA, who was poiloting a bomber was killed by a Cuban militia when it was shot down. There was a special on the history channel about him, they were trying to make him into hero of sorts. Talk about spin, trying to drop high explosives from thirty thousand feet on people on foot. then, when they knock you down, they shoot you in the back as you try and flee into the woods. Almost as heoric as Jessica Lynch.
Che was in the wrong spot, but was shot under the chin. Suicide attempt, or mistake?
The exiles were driven into the sea and captured by about a hundred thousand of Cuban militia members, whom the CIA thought would topple Castro the minute the exiles landed. Sound familiar?
