you actually admit to watching that shitty movie? I have only seen the movie once and it was one of the lamest movies ever with the exception of that arm wrestling movie Stallone was in.

Is this the one where the Italian Stalion fights the dirty commie Russian? I saw a part of it a few days ago. When I first saw the whole rocky series I was really little so I didn't know anything about Russia and I thought the USSR was a totally different country.
If i can change, you can change, everybody can change
It sounds like it means exactly what it says. Like "I'm such a bad ass but I can still be open minded and accept new ways of things so all you badasses can too". I don't remeber the end though so who knows.

Stallone is such a deep actor. Look at his performances in Rambo, so moving.

Hey man don't knock Stalone, he played some real bad asses. I even named my dogs after him (ok, I was like in the second grade when I named my first one Rocky...and more recently in the 7th grade(who my mom got rid of btw, that *****. I named him Rambo(he was so cute)). Stalone is an inspiration for buff dogs.

Take that back you son of a *****. Over the Top was a cinematic masterpiece in every way. Next you'll be shit talking Harry and the Henerson's !
I came into this thread to quote a rap lyric "Beat your ass and then we're cool, like Apollo and Rocky".

The key operative word in this statement is "played." He played some real badasses. I bet I could kick the shit out of him.

Stallone was at University on some kind of scholarship excelling. he dropped out wanting to be an actor starred in a porn film to raise funds called Party at Kitty and Stud's, he then wrote directed and starred in Rocky. After that one him an Oscar he got typecast and chased the money before finally doing Copland with Harvey Keitel which proved that he was a good actor. This lost him many fans and in a desperate bid to get popular again he reverted to the shoot 'em up type movies this time in the form of Get Carter. Point being Stallone is great and will kick your arse if you say a bad word against him.

your all wrong on so many levels -
first, the rocky films, with the possible exception of V, are a great set and worth viewing on a regular basis. Rocky IV, very possibly, being the best of the lot
the second is the meaning to rocky's speech at the end
what he is refering to is peoples perception of 'the enemy' or those who they do not know or understand
he actually says 'i have seen a change in how you feel about me and how i feel about you'. nothing to do with their individual political systems
he went into the ring such a hated figure (the big american evil) and faced with all that hatred, he directed it back to the crowd
but by the end they are chanting his name and standing to applaud him. and as such, if even they can change their views on him as an individual and he can them as a people. then both countries can change and find away to co-exist in a peaceful/respectful manner without the threat of nuclear war etc

1)The first 4 Rocky movies are incredible. They're a no-holds-barred display of the indominable human spirit - and the ability for angy catholics to beat the crap out of black guys!
2)Rocky 5 is crap
3)Rocky 3 is the best one, then 4, then 1, then 2, then 5
4)It's got nothing to do with politics. It has to do with being hardcore.
6)There is no #5

Rocky 5 isn't that crap, it talks abt betrayal and greed, quite inspiring.

he actually says 'i have seen a change in how you feel about me and how i feel about you'. nothing to do with their individual political systems
that's just an opening remark.
Throughout the film, it's all about politics, lines as examples,
- " Comrade big mouths!"
- " At least we don't keep people behind a wall with machine guns""
- Apollo, " What are u talkin' about, Stallion? It's us against them!"
- Secret officers following Rocky throughout the whole training process in USSR means something too.
- Depicting coaches scolding Drago when he was hit and bleeding also tries to give a picture that communist countries terrorises their atheltes when it involves NAtional Glory.
etc, etc............
then both countries can change and find away to co-exist in a peaceful/respectful manner without the threat of nuclear war etc
:D :D :D

yeah what he said. But I think socialist tiger summed it up best with this one:
