The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) has entered Dar-Hanun (a city in Gaza Strip) yesterday. This operation is a reaction to the firing of Kassam missiles into israeli cities inside the green line. On the past 3 months the IDF executed 12 operations in Gaza Strip including this, none of them so far proved to stop Kassams shooting.

On this operation so far were killed 4 palestinians, one of them 14 year old. And the zionist left is too busy supporting Sharon's so-called "Seperation" plan to really protest against this crime.

Our witdraw from Lebanon stopped the missles shooting on the north of Israel. It was after 18 years of bloodshed. How long will it take us to withdraw from the palestinian territories?

The Palestinians continue to suffer in silence.

The biggest tragedy of this conflict is the way in which the international community has ignored the plight of the Palestinian people, and continues to do so.

Sharon continues to stir the pot, filling it with black powder each time he does. This will only continue to fuel the Palestinians as they fight against the Israeli machine. And this, the Israelis do not understand.

Unfortunatly, that is just an everyday occurance in Palestine. We only hear about the incidents that are heard about by western journalists. Kids are shot pretty much all of the time by the IDF.

'the zionist left'
Oxymoron or what? ;)

Justy a load of religous, racist bullshit.
e.g.

Even though the Arabs have been trying to kill us out of sheer prejudice ever since we began returning to the land in large numbers in modern times, the left portrays us as racists and aggressors.
No, you have just proved yourself to be racist.

Why would we want to pick a fight with an immensely wealthy, well armed, heavily populated Arab and Muslim world?
In which most people live in poverty. These 'leftists' are just mindless, reactionary bullshits.
Mixing politics with religion excludes you from being a leftist, full stop.

Zionists are basically nazis who got away with it. Their brand of blood-and-soil nationalism has succeeded because liberals and conservatives support them. If you don't, you're labeled anti-semetic ( even though the arabs are semetic as well . . .) It is revolting and I look forward to the day when Isreal is smashed.

1) About the "zionis left" issue - Zionism is the ruling ideology among the jews of israel and it is pumped up regularly by the education system and the media. So even leftist have a hard time leaving it. And like there's a left side for USA imperialism (a.k.a Democrats) there is also a left side for Zionism (a.k.a Avoda and Meretz).

2) There is no protest at all against this crime in Israel. I've been today to some women demonstration infront of the Security Office - it was only about 15-20 women from one organization, trying more to publicise their organization then to make a statement. I hope there will be more protest in the near days.

Redtrigger, I take it you are Israeli? What is the normal reaction to these sort of attrocities in Israel? Do the media ever condemn it, or are they blatantly biased towards Zionism?

Do you remember how american media covered Iraq War? very similar.

The media supports this operation because it "saves Sderot" and "keeps Israel's security". Reporters are interviewing soldiers and military officers with great worship and always saying "go on doing this holy job!" after they finish.

The (unfortunately) biggest left party "Avoda" ("Labor" - though they are actually neo-liberal thacherists) supports this act as part of the "war on terror". They also support Sharon's "Seperation Plan", so they are not a real opposition.

The only parties who oppose this operation are "Meretz"/"Yachad" ("Social-Democratic Israel" - left zionists), "Hadash"/"Maki" ("Communist Party of Israel"), "Balad" ("National Democratic Assembly" - arab nationalists) and "Ra'am" ("United Arab List"). All have only 14 seats in the Knesset out of 120 seats. There are non-party organizations who oppose this operation.

And the public? Well, when I put the invitation to the demo tommrow against the operation on some forum, somone said "70 arabs were killed, I'm buying everybody beer!". That might be not the whole israeli public, but that's a growing tendency.

Few statistic figures about the operation so far:
Number of killed palestinians: 75.
Number of innocent (not warriors) palestinian civilians killed: 31.
Number of palestinian children (under 17) killed: 19.
Based on Btselem report.

That's really sad. It's no surprise though. There have also been many reports of the IDF delibratley targeting and killing journalists too.

Recently I was watching this special on t.v. that showed Jenin and what kind of shit the people there have to put up with.
