REVOLUTION BETRAYED, by Leon Trotsky: *

IMPERIALISM, THE HIGHEST STAGE OF CAPITALISM, by Lenin: *

THE STATE AND THE REVOLUTION, by Lenin: *

If you are interested in guerilla warfare:

ON GUERILLA WARFARE, by Mao:

MINIMANUAL OF THE URBAN GUERILLA, by Carlos Marighella *

http://www.bellum.nu/wp/cm/cmmotug.html

GUERILLA WARFARE, by Ernesto "Che" Guevara:

http://www.bellum.nu/wp/ecg/ecggw.html

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Those with * are those I consider the basics. I don't feel comfortable reading Marx, but I do love works from Lenin, Trotsky and Mao. That's just my personal feeling, but some people concentrate on works from Marx and Engels. Try to read some of all of the famous communists, and try to find those you identify wity and/or understand (the most). :)

Here is a complete list of works by Trotsky:

http://www.marxists.org/archive/trotsky/works/index.htm

Also remember that (something I try to remind myself of everyday), that Lenin, Mao, Engels and so on were just humans. They all made mistakes, and reading their works should only be for 'guidance'.

Enjoy :)

I agree with TAT when he propose, What is Communist Anarchism? by Alexander Berkman.

It was at least for me a very good read (I believe it was TAT who suggested it to me). I don't recommend reading The Communist Manifesto myself, but a hell of a lot of people do, so I guess it's just up to you. :)

Here (http://www.marxists.org/archive/pannekoe/1936/councils.htm) is a link to Workers' Councils, for those interested.

I also recommend Engels' Principles of Communism (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/11/prin-com.htm). It's almost like a communist FAQ.
