When I saw this thread, I had the feeling you were going to talk to him. But 'seeing' is still pretty fucking cool.

So is he giving a speech? Or is Audioslave doing a performance?

he is doing all new material nothing related to Audioslave or Rage Against the Machine, I'll try to talk to him before or after the show though.

If you did get to talk to him, I hoped you asked him when he's going to get serious and get rid of the poser Cornell and the rest of the milque toast Audio Slave and get back together with Zach and actually do some political music again.

Anyone else heard the new stuff from Zach de la Rocha? I've heard We want it all, it's ok but not as good as ratm's self titled stuff, and the vocals are really low down in the mix, almost buried by the guitars, which is a bit weird. But apparently the album's produced by Trent Reznor and DJ shadow!

well i didnt get to talk to him but i got pretty damn close to him before the show, he was walking onto the tour bus, i didnt even realize it was him until he got off the bus with his Cubs hat on and I saw his mom standing next to him. I tried to talk to him after his set but i guess he went to the Cubs game, wrigley field is a stones throw away. anyhow he played all new material and it was all folk music, pretty good too, check out the Axis of Justice DVD to hear some of his songs.
Other bands with the exception of Midtown were good. I couldnt stay for all of Anti-Flag but what I did catch was great and Strike Anywhere were great too. This guy named Mike Park (?) opened the show, he was pretty good.
The attidude for the reason of the tour wasnt a Kerry campaign as it was a register to vote campaign and "vote" bush out of office.

I was also at the show. Tom Morello was amazing. His voice sounds like Johnny Cash, his lyrics are brilliant and his guitar and harmoniac work was great. If you have a chance to see Tom (a.k.a. The Nightwatchman), make sure you do.

A cool DJ. I've only heard one song with him and Zack though.

I've just heard a few odd tracks that he's done with DJ Shadow, and other with Chuck D, KRS One and a few others too. Good stuff I thought. Anyone that would mention Bobby Sands in their album credits is cool with me.

And I jsut saw this:

Epic Records/Sony Music Soundtrax will release "Songs and Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11," with all songs selected by Moore. The 14-track album includes Zack de la Rocha's "We Want It All" (the album's first single), Bob Dylan (news)'s "With God on Our Side," Bruce Springsteen (news)'s live version of "Chimes of Freedom," System of a Down's "Boom!," the Clash's "Know Your Rights," the Dixie Chicks (news - web sites)' "Travelin' Soldier" and Pearl Jam's live version of "Masters of War."
