I've never utilised the Literature section of this Community before so forgive me if this has come up before.

Also forgive me if this seems a stupid question. I'm not usually an avid reader of fiction, however I was recommended "The Master and Maragrite" by a friend and reading it amazed me.

It is an awesome book and is apparently a "cult classic". Which is why I may sound silly and ignorant for asking if people have read it!

The storyline is really too much to describe, so it'd be good if anyone has read it. You can sense the Sovietism in it, which is why I brought it up here. Not only Sovietism, but Stalinism.

Bulgakov was a writer during Stalin's reign and apparently one of his plays, "The White Guard" was Stalin's favourite. There are splashings of Stalinism throughout the book and a definite link forged between Satan and Stalin, in a very discreet and clever way. Obviously, literature was moderated by government during Stalin's time, but the link between Satan and "The Boss" is one which could be seen as a good one from Stalin's viewpoint.

I won't say too much so as not to spoil it for those of you who may read it, but if anyone has read it, please do comment.
