This band called Against Me! have a song named "Cliche Guevara". Here are the lyrics:

and we'll keep ourselves in a place where it's easy to hold onto.
the last threats came and went, this is the way that wars are played.
always heading for a front, heading for a front,
we go into the obscurity of an easy to pass on feeling that objection is so cliche.
a new waaay on
a new waaay on
a new waaay on
a new waaay...
so can your pop sensibilities sing me the end of the world?
turn gunshots and mortar blasts into a metaphor of how we are all the same.
well there's a lot of things that should be said, so we're hammering six strings,
machine gun in audible voices, this is the party we came for.
a new waaay on
a new waaay on
a new waaay on
a new waaay...
we stand in amazement of motion in a world that is constantly revolving.
with plans of invasion and arms races racing we rock to the new sensation.
a new waaay on
a new waaay on
a new waaay on
a new waaay...

I thought it would be interesting to discuss this.

It's not exactly about Che, can't you read ?

Good song though.

They've got a few songs that have no relation to the title, 'Reinventing Axl Rose' doesn't really go well with the anti-corporate music lyrics. Or at least I think so.

I thought they were saying that Che was a cliche.

The title does imply that, and they're right, Che has become a cliche, it's no fault of his though. But the song isn't really about that.

My favorite line (it's way better when you actually listen to the song)

turn gunshots and mortar blasts into a metaphor
of how we are all the same.

Che is cliche, so is modenrn day environmentalism, or leftism. It is just that if you become sceptical of the selling out of whatever belief (however sad) then you isolate vast quantities of the target audiences, capitalism and media are bothe biggest help and biggest threat to any radical ideas.

Nowadays, everything has become cliche.

I THINK the title refers to those motherfuckers who wear che shirts and know nothing about what che really stood for instead they use him as a symbol of fasion and turn his face into everything che would have stood against if he hadnt been murdered.

maybe I'm missinterpreting the name
I dont know

Che shirts are very kewl but maybe the people who sell them need to test the buyers on their knowledge of socialism - if they're stupid, no sale!!
