View Full Version : America: "Cuba sponsors international terrorism"

I heard a few days ago that Bush described Cuba as sponsors of international terrorism.

This I find extremoly ironic and hyppocrytical. Since Fidel came to power, as far as I know, not a single bomb has or act of terroism has come from to America. Yet what I can think of happening ovver the last 40 years are the following.

1959: La Coubre, a ship carrying a weapons shiment to the cuban gover nmnet which America had tried to stop mysteriously explodes in the dock killing 70 peopl.

1961: in anticipation of the Bay of Pigs invasion, Cuba is bombed and cuban sugar cain feilds are torched.

Since then there have been numerous terrorist attacks by groups harboured and protected in Florida which have been directed against civil institutions. American terrorism against cuba has cost the cuban people over two thousand lives.

AND AMERICA HAVE THE FRONT TO CALL CUBA TERRORIST. FUCKING RIDICULOUS

The 7 possible targets for nuclear weapons they named were Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya.

Also Cuba has only fought 1 international war since the revolution. (With Angola against South Africa.)

No one is definite, but most people don't believe that.

What's ironic is Russia being on the list. Russia is no longer Communist. Vladimir Putin doesn't appear to be Capitalist, but I wouldn't say that he's Socialist, either. I would just call him simply a Nationalist, with a very strong desire to make sure that Russia is for Russia, not for America or anyone else. (And no, I wouldn't trust him, either, considering his career path.)

Russia, like both Iran and Pakistan, backed America immediately after 9-11. Iran's now in the bad books, because they apparently didn't "help out" enough re Afghanistan. (I shudder to know what the U.S expected of them, actually.) And now Pakistan's receiving the same treatment - to the point that re this Kashmir problem flaring up again, the U.S is backing India.

America seems to believe in the theory of "Once and enemy, always an enemy - until you give us exactly what we want, when we want it." America's moved itself into new military bases all throughout the S.S.R's (for the uninitiated, these are the broken off pieces of the old U.S.S.R, such as Georgia, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Kurgistan, etc.), therefore completely surrounding Russia with American military bases. And I'll bet the missiles that are being set up aren't all pointing south. Russia's getting itchy, naturally.

What happened to that so-called alliance that they spoke of having created, post 9-11? What happened to the great words that Putin and Bush spoke of, in regards to each other? It's all out the window, apparently.

When children are violent towards their "friends", and show signs of a genuine wish to be anti-social, they get removed from the sandbox and often put into counselling.

America just will not learn. It's about time the counselling began.

I think Dubya is using 9/11 and the "axis of terror" bullshit simply to go after the governments he dosent like.

Its not the capitalism that pisses me off so much about ameriKKKa but the imperialism. And Ive felt that way even well before I became a leftist. Most country's are only involved in local matters but there isn't a portion of the earth that ameriKKKa hasnt tried to fuck with, and they always act on their self-interest only.

The bombings in 1961, according to the U.S., didnt happen. Funny thing that there is a bomb shell in my grandparents back yard in Cuba. They also poisoned swine and numerously poisened the sugar crops.

Who the fuck is the U.S. to talk about terrorism? They have been using "terror" tactics for almost 50 years in cuba!!!

Bush cannot call Cuba terrorists, not when his country is the only state every to be held accountable for terrorism by the World Court.
REad, if you please
Nicaragua did respond. They didn’t respond by setting off bombs in Washington. They responded by taking it to the World Court, presenting a case, they had no problem putting together evidence. The World Court accepted their case, ruled in their favor, ordered the…condemned what they called the “unlawful use of force,” which is another word for international terrorism, by the United States, ordered the United States to terminate the crime and to pay massive reparations. The United States, of course, dismissed the court judgment with total contempt and announced that it would not accept the jurisdiction of the court henceforth. Then Nicaragua then went to the UN Security Council which considered a resolution calling on all states to observe international law. No one was mentioned but everyone understood. The United States vetoed the resolution. It now stands as the only state on record which has both been condemned by the World Court for international terrorism and has vetoed a Security Council resolution calling on states to observe international law. Nicaragua then went to the General Assembly where there is technically no veto but a negative US vote amounts to a veto. It passed a similar resolution with only the United States, Israel, and El Salvador opposed. The following year again, this time the United States could only rally Israel to the cause, so 2 votes opposed to observing international law. At that point, Nicaragua couldn’t do anything lawful. It tried all the measures. They don’t work in a world that is ruled by force.

Also, In the 60's after the Bay of Pigs, the US wanted to take over Cuba, so there are plans(they are public, look them up) of the CIA making it look like the Cubans attacked Guantanamo Bay(SP?). One suggestion was to blow up a ship and make it look like the cubans did it, or stage a ground attack on the base. A little of that information seeped out and Cuba got wind of it, hence the Cuban Missile Crisis. But what scares me the most, is if we were planning to stage a attack there, how many other places have we already staged attacks in order to take something over? WTC anyone?

I heard about those plans too Sharule. I think they just came into the public recently.

Anywhere where the US is supported by the goverment and hated by the people they have probably either used terrorist tactics or a fullscale invasion to create a goverment that will support them. ie. Venezuela- america support democracy when democracy supports america. newly elected goverment doesn't support american oil companies running its country, plans to get rid of them. oil companies tell bush he had better do something about this or they will buy themselves a new president. so bush sets up a military coup. fortunately it failed and he looks like an idiot again. But in countries like suadi where the polulation hates america but the US relies on its oil so they support the gov. there

Poor Sudan and Syria. They were probably just watching tv when they heard they were in the "axis of evil". You can just imagine the heads of state saying "What! What the fuck?"
America desperately needs these poor countries so when the "war on terrorism" gets tough they can pick on the little guy.Again.
