I'm having issues right now. Namely because though I am becoming interested in Communist ideals and ideas, I keep getting this re-occuring inside voice of sorts that keeps telling me "Communism is bad. Stay away from Communism."
Do you understand what I am saying? I'm sorry, as I'm not feeling too articulate right now, but until now every time I've heard "Communism" It's been in a negative light, and though a large part of me is intrigued and agrees with many Communist ideas, I keep getting that recurring societal off limits subliminal messaging. Will this go away with time?
Also, I am fairly new so I have set about obtaining these books:
The Communist Manifesto
The Communist Manifesto and Other Revolutionary Writings: Marx, Marat, Paine, Mao Tse-Tung, Gandhi and Others
Das Kapital: A Critique of Political Economy
Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism and
Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life
Would any of you reccommend any other books to accompany these?

It will always be shown in a negative light, as it had not worked ideally in the past. Those who speak of it badly, are those that do not understand it. "Communism's only defect, is that its enemies do not understand it".
The reason you probably have some moral resistance, may be due to the fact that your mind is so used to conforming with what the capitalists want you to think, to such a degree that it may feel unorthodox to think any differently.
I never had that problem, as i rejected capitalism from the age of 8, before i could ever understand it in detail.
I suppose I should add at this point, there is nothing wrong or impure in the ideology of communism, its a truly justified system that seeks equality and justice for everyone. Ignore the people that will try and deter you, and embrace a struggle that has been going on for hundreds of years, a struggle that would love your support.

Thank you for the reply. I realize there is nothing wrong with the ideology surrounding Communism, it's just that it seems to be more stigmatized than any other governmental theory, fascism, monarchy, etc. Oh well. As I find out more, I begin to support Communism more.
And I do agree, communism seems to be rejected mainly by those who do not understand it.
Also, the quality of these boards and the intelligence of its members are unlike any I've seen. It's nice to find such a place.

Bollocks, they understand it just fine, they just demonize it because it threatens their way of life which they live off the exploitaiton of other people.
Granted that communism as Anti-Capitalist says is rejected by those who don't understand it, by it is first and foremost demonized by those who do understand it and feel threatened by it. Those who don't understand it are simply used to hearing that side because they have the loudest voices in the media and elsewhere. Money talks and allows you to talk.

I use to be in the same state. I wasn't really sure if there was something I didn't understand in communism. It wasn't anything about how much I was aware of the ways of communalism; it was about the hidden things in policy! Yes I stood for the beliefs but the part that someone told me that was being fooled didn't make me change anything. It only gave thoughts if there was something I didn't or did stand for that was maybe not as I considered it to be...
I was asking myself why does that person think I'm being fooled? And it's just as you said, they are talking about something that usually comes from someone else's wives of communism. How many of those to really take a book or at least go on intent to find out what it means before they say their opinion? (Very few) People rather translate things from what has been heard form other people. It's like a circle until it comes to the place where the circle started someone will understand how wrong they were!
.........and welcome :D
