So, Che fought for what he believed in, which I respect greatly, but did he not execute tons of people? OR, where said people trying to kill him? Ive read up on Che a bit, but, theres so much I don't understand

He surely killed people in battle, so if you call that execution, yes, he killed those who were trying to kill him.

He also killed many people outside of battle, post-revolution. The situation was this. After the revolution you have an extremely high number of capitalists and military generals who committed crime that today would probbaly be well deserving of the US death penalty. To my understanding the majority if not all of these were held in a court like scenario where the public was able to testify against these people. After hearing the testemony it was the position of some of the revolutionary leaders (including Che) to pass sentence, in more cases or not the sentence was influenced by the people chanting for death. You must understand that many if not all the people who were being put to death had killed directly or indirectly a number of people, in many cases where some of batistas troops were tried there were allegations of rape and sexual assault against young girls. I'm not sure where I found it (it may be in one of the documentaries I have on him) but there is some filmed footage of these -- in the film I saw, if I recall correctly, a twelve year old boy is explaining to the panel about the execution of his family and the destruction of his home.
