In my town there is a debate being held they are arguing wether che was a true revelotionary or twether he didnt do much but in later life became a sort of star and these days it seems that way to che face being on T-Shirts Cuba On hoodies i ask you are the capitalists capitalizing on CHE!!! or is he just an icon

I belive he was a bit of both mainly a revelotionist

I think he was a revolutionary at the time (and still is) but he was adopted as a pop idol after a while. This can be both good and bad because many people become interested in socialism because they see his t-shirt and they wonder who he is but many people just wear his t-shirts to look cool.

i think Che wasn't a pop idol but has been made into some sort of chic logo which is infuriating, because his face isnt used to spread his beliefs its just used by big companies using sweatshop labour. im sure Che would of loved that.

Che ate, slept and breathed the socialist revolution! The cappies made him a pop icon to spread merchandice instead of ideas

Anyone arguing whether or not he was really a revolutionary knows NOTHING about Che. Che didn't do much? Give me a break, such ignorance is just embarrassing to whoever would say that.

i believe CHE is more an revolutionary than a pop icon, capitalist just make him that popular because of selling che t-shirts or whatever.

first of all, hello this is my first post..and returning to the topic it is infuriating to see che's face gleaming out from tshirts won by kids and popsters who barely know how to spell his name, let alone know what his face really stands for...i mean i have a t-shirt of che, true, but i am beginning to question the credibility of wearing it, when it has become a symbol like the Nike thing or the McDonalds arched M...(also hello hobo...see? i joined)

Che was a revelotionary hero through being a pop ideal

Well its a good point and is different amogn many. You may think of me as being an ignorant capitilist or something but i hadnt heard to much about him till i saw the local "Resistance Center" near were i live that is just full of greensy and all, had a symbol of Che as the emblem.
I asked the people there about him and they told me the basics of why the have him as the symbol and i thought, "this fella sounds good.Threw away power and continued the revolution."
So i went and bought a t-shirt of him a few days ago and walking around with it today i found most people had no idea who he was but there were quite a few who thought he was a good guy to.
And besides he is the international symbol for rebellion.

In life che was a revolutionary
In his new life he is still a revolutionary.
But yoo right. people are making a profit out of his face on t-shirt
