Bonnie Prince Billy not william, his real name is Will Oldham and for years he made records under the name Palace Brothers. I have a ticket for me and a friend and will be seeing him this sunday at the venue in Hobart. He's quite good contry/folk I reccommend seeing the freaky looking fella. I started a thread about Bonnie Prince Billy coming to Australia maybe a month ago.

This is an email I got from the event organizer in Melbourne I imagine it will be a similar thing with the Sydney show. Tickets apparently are not available yet.

We appreciate it both for the ideas and soul expressed, as well as the manner in which they are expressed, that is art, and it's appreciation. NOT 'this is too good for you grubby, ignorant little fuckers! how dare you soil it with you ignorant interpretations and unassuming comments'...arrogant shit like that completely negates the purpose and function of art; which is to share something different with each person who comes into contact with it. Because someone sees something different in it, or doesn't appreciate it in the same way you do, doesn't make them 'wrong' or 'ignorant' etc.

I've emailed the venues in Melbourne and Sydney and neither of them will let me buy a ticket unless it's in person... BUT today I found out a woman in my photography class is going to melbourne on the weekend and is going to get me a ticket. YAY. I am going to see Devendra, this tops everything else I've seen including the chili peppers, xavier rudd, paul kelly, the beautiful girls and Turin Brakes.
