Has anyone checked it out yet? I saw it not too long ago, and I must say it was pretty good. Though the storyline wasn't exactly like the video game, there were still some elements that remained true to it. Nemesis kicked ass.
It lacked gore. That was the only dissapointment for me. :P
Other than that, it was entertaining. I still think the first Resident Evil movie would have been better if they let George Romero make it.

Im probably going to see it. The game was one of the few who could really make me scared (probably because I played it ind the night and I was younger then :D ). The first movie was ok (for a hollywood flick that is). But of course it would have been better if Romero made it, the mans a fucking genius. I enjoyed the remake of dawn of the death. I thought it was ok although not as brilliant as the original.

I saw it last night for free. I have friends that work at the local theater and when they have to preview the films I get to watch them for free. I thought it was ok, but the end of it sort of confused me. Maybee if I see the first one it will make more sense.

I really disliked this movie for several reasons.
The fight scenes were way too dark and very hard to see what was happening, especially the scenes in the cemetary, Church.
The hand to hand combat camera work was perhaps the worst I had scene in such a long time. By cutting around very quickly, from several angles, distances; it was only the sounds that made it possible to know what was happening.
Lighting was poorly used in all night scenes.
Zombies slow, Zombie Dogs fast, like the first one.
Scenes that could have been concentrated on more for more emotional punch were short, little dialouge and only introduced characters. Like the people on the bridge at the gate scene.
Valentine's character was way, way, way over the top, especially her introduction into the police station.
Character's were very unemotional for such intense drama taking place.
Too much 1,2 punchline jokes and the only kind of humor introduced into the movie. It is nice to break scenes of intense action or drama with humor, but not always the same character and not always with the same method of delivery.
Black humor relief character, way too stereotypical to truly exist. Zombies were more believable than him really existing.
As far as being true to the video game, the movie does keep with the movie game but less horror or on the edge of your seat fear.
I give the movie overall a D.
It was a sequal, sequals are 95% of the time failures to thier predecessors. Many times using formulas or gimmicks previously used in other movies. This movie does that and tried to sell itself as an action movie with the tense thriller of the first but fails to deliver on both counts.

Shaun of the Dead looks like a Dead Alive rip-off, IMO. I heard about the Dawn of the Dead 4 disc DVD that just came out, I'm definatley going to get that. :D
Valentine's character was way, way, way over the top, especially her introduction into the police station.
Haha, yeah, that was pretty cheesy. I thought it was really funny though.

Same here, the reason why I had got the Playstation in the first place was for Resident Evil. After that, I became addicted to the game and I must say to this day I consider it one of the greatest video games of all time.

I don't really play games so I couldn't say or care how close it was.
I thought it was great, even better than the first. It was hilarious seeing all those Toronto landmarks. It was just a good old fashioned hack n slash.
I also think it had a good message, helping to ingrain the Idea that 'The Corperation' is the enemy.

Good Film, Better than the first one but lacks scares.
The effects and fight scenes are good, but they still haven't properly explained the t-virus. The nemesis pwns, it's pity he gets pwned by a helicopter.

yeah, i was stoked when i first heard about it, i think Savini is doing the special effects too. the only thing im upset about is the movie is most likely going to be shot in Toronto rather than the Pittsburgh area as the first 2 films and florida like the 3rd and my favorite Dead film were shot, otherwise id drive as fast as i could to a extra casting call.
