Maybe this is a repeat thread but worth it anyway:

We must remember than even though the right is getting stronger it seems, this isnt a pattern in the east

In Hungary, recently the "reformed communists" are now in power, making 2 "reformed communist" party in govt in eastern europe, the other being Poland.

thats great news. I though that in poland most people hated communism.

Really god that people are beginnig to realise the true price of capitalist liberties.

Yeah, even though they had the problem with Le Pen in France, the french parliament still consists of about 250 socialists and 50 communists. (Theres only one from the far-right, too)

Lets hope the counties fall red one by one
and a fuckoff red bloc when we make the EU communist.

Once EU becomes a superstate, then we will (us europeans) be under one border, and united we will push for socialism

Although there has been a resurgence of right wing parties in Europe I think that the situation is not as dire as the international media has predicted. The American media in particular has been quick to point out the pattern. This is hardly surprising as the Americans have been increasingly on the defensive recently, over their unilateralist policies (the middle east crisis, the National Missile defence, the steel tariffs, the Kyoto Agreement.. etc). Further evidence of the growing rift between the US and Europe came when the French president Jacques Chirac tore into what he called American "unilateralism". In one of his most hard-hitting indictments of the Bush administration, Chirac said that what the US was giving to developing countries in aid, it was now taking back in the form of tariffs.

Consequently, many American politicians (most notably Colin Powell) have claimed that the rise of anti-European sentiments was partly explained by anti-Americanism in Europe. The extent of ill feeling has been illustrated in the US by a number of harshly worded attacks on Europe by the American media, including accusations of anti-Semitism.

One cannot deny the resurgence of right-wing politics in several European countries. However, to suggest that this recent pattern signifies the rise of belligerent and racist sentiments amongst Europeans in general is absolutely absurd. Many Europeans are becoming increasingly frustrated with the bureaucracy of their leaders as well as their inability to deal with issues that they hold dear. Inevitably, those embittered voters will turn their attention elsewhere. Many right wing parties have been shrewd enough to pick up on these issues and as a result they have been gaining a significant number of votes. Nevertheless, there are several left-wing parties that have been gaining increasing support all across Europe, and despite the Le Pen's victory in France, the socialist coalition still has a strong hold in the parliament.

yes, come on all you Europeans over there!
Once you guys unite Europe with the EU as a Communist superstate, you can hopefully end the Blindness of us Americans (rather than creating another Cold War)!

I'm from the Netherlands and the fuckers just won the elections.christian right the biggest,2nd the lfp,the party of the recently murdered pim Fortuyn.
the left is beeing blamed for the murder, that was committed by an enviremental activist.left organisations are getting death threats,to be short,it hasn't been this bad overhere in my lifetime.because of the murder people now accept fortuyn as a victon, and his rightist thinking has become accepted all of the sudden.he wanted an immigration stop, said that Islam is a retarted culture, and more shit like that.

THere is a definite patter between the rise in immigrants and rise of racist party's. The communists should use this opportunity and use same tactics of fascists in that use stong words followed by actions to get into power and deal with immigrants fairly

did anyone see Mr powell's speech on how if Europe need to fall inot line, i tell you t won't be long before we are on the ever incresing list of the 'axis of evil'
Europe must unite under any (left-wing) goverment and put a stop to America's ever increasing unstability. then put a stop to Europes own problems.

Easier said than done.Especially as the European Superstate is being formed to strengthen european corporations, not the will of the people of this continent.Still,it's not an impossible dream.

Why is there no socialist intelligensia other than over 50's?

We need a new generation of WELL educated commies. so we use the system to change it

We need to use universities to turn them into Commie breeding grouds, who will be militant for the cause.

it's not all bad,in the Netherlands, the SP,sosialist party and most left to run in the elections, doubled his seats in parlement.in france the trotskist party won big allso.people turn away from the astablisment, and vote as a protest on radical right(and some on left too)now we wait for the rightist polcies to fail(surely they will)and then people know again that they suck.
